I wish someone would tell him that I just had to buy 4 new tires for my car, and that my clothes dryer just died this week and needs to be fixed or replaced, so now I don't have the money to buy Tour tickets. Do you think he'd buy me a new dryer? Or better yet, give me tickets to the concert in DC?

That was really sweet of David to have done that for her. I like what BLake said about paying it forward. He did the same thing after winning AI when he headed back to his hometown to treat his friends to a dinner. Really shows he wants to be able to do for others, show his appreciation and gratitude. This is someone who's definitely got his head screwed on RIGHT.

Another thing that struck a chord with me is that this shows he's the type of person who really LISTENS. I know that may sound like such a small simple thing but it means a lot to the person on the receiving end. Not just listen but truly hear what you're saying. In this case, Abigail had not even been speaking to him directly about it but he made the effort to remember it and do something for her, something she didn't even ask for.

I am sure he would, if you were to contact him.. But I got to say, it's a little wierd to come out and say could you buy me a new dryer or idol tickets please? bahaha. And if you DO talk to him, say a girl named Sarah would like backstage passes to one of his concerts.. Sorry you can't go

Thank you for this wonderful article. Not the same old stuff but gives us more of what David is experiencing emotionally. It shows too how beautiful a person he is both inside and out. Not only has his music reached out and touched me, his heart has moved and inspired me too.

That is why I support this guy. He's so very sweet and down to earth.

One thing this article did so excellently is show-case how David's life has changed since winning. I thought the author did that very well with absolutely no castigation on David AT ALL. I wrote to the reporter to give kudos. No question underneath all that busy rushing around, though, David remains his own sweet self.

I loved the comments below the article, too. People just let it all out don't they and have no problem showing their bias???

That was so touching! And, doubly so for me because not only do I adore DC, but my current fave child star is Abigail Breslin (along with her brother, Spencer)! Amazing! Kudos to David for being thoughtful, for being a great listener, and for being an all-around nice guy!

Loved that article! I keep thinking about how strange it must be to go from a nobody to a somebody practically overnight. Not everyone can handle that kind of an extreme life change, but David seems particularly well grounded, and I really think he'll do ok and stay true to himself as he becomes more and more successful as we all know he will! I also completely loved the line, "I'm a goober man." I'm totally using that in a siggy!

David represents what a man should be. Honest, hard-working, thoughtful, and caring are traits not seen (sadly) in showbiz today. David is someone I would love to have my son look up to (besides his father).

Articles like this remind me (like I really need reminding) why I'm such a big fan of this man. He has one of the biggest, kindest hearts and he deserves nothing less than happiness and success.
