He was one of my favorites as well. I always watched his HBO special when it was on, and it always made me laugh.
He will be missed.

OMG I am so shocked right now! I had no idea until I saw this thread.
He was one of the best comedians I've ever seen.
So sad to hear that.
All my prayers are with his family, friends, and fans.

I am really upset. He is one of my favorites next to Robert Schimmel.
I just saw him a few months ago. I am very fortunate of that.

I just found out two minutes ago.....I don't usually get emotional with celebrity deaths, but this really got to me.
I've loved George Carlin for as long as I can remember....his stand-up routines, his hosting the first episode EVER of SNL, Shining Time Station/Thomas The Tank Engine, Bill & Ted, Dogma....shit, he was the best part of Jersey Girl (which I actually liked alot).
Seven Words You Can't Say On Television was great too...

When I read this today, it was like a punch to the gut. He was one of my all-time favorite comedians. Seven Words is historical comic gold. He was more than just a comedian...he was someone who made you think...made you step back and look at the world a different way...then laugh at it's stupidity. Lots of people try to be funny, and some people just have it naturally. George was one of the naturals. He will be sorely missed.
