I'm trying to organize a Pre-Show Event for the August 6 Albany, NY event. I welcome any and all David Cook fans from the Albany, NY area that are interested in planning and/or attending a pre-show event to support David Cook, David-Cook.org and The American Cancer Society.

Please private message me with your email account. I'd also like to organize an online chat session soon to get the creative juices flowing. So please also let me know how often you visit this site, the usual time of day, and let me know if there are days/times that you absolutely could not chat.

Also, if you have experience on street teams that would be awesome! Let me know what else I should be doing!

Anyone? (Bumping)

All right! We're finally up and running!

Tonight I'll be creating our page on the TeamACS website. Thank you to CookiesChick for allowing me to use her story in the introduction. I'm going to set the goal at $250.00 unless I hear from someone that it is too high. (So far no one has given me feedback on the goal other than one person volunteering to donate a certain amount.) We have until September 13th to collect donations. I'll be sending out a message when it's ready.

I've also sent out a message regarding our creation of the sign for the Sport Your Support Sign Challenge. If you are interested, but didn't get my message, send me a PM and I'll get it right out to you.

Thank you to everyone so far for putting the fans in the Albany, NY area on the map as a base of people ready and willing to be street-teamers for David Cook!

Hey All,

It looks like our American Cancer Society fund-raising is going to be done solely through our individual efforts. The local ACS representative hasn’t contacted me yet. Nor have I been able to secure a place to set up a table near the Times Union Center on August 6th for them to hand out literature.

A reminder: We have until September 13 to reach our goal of collecting $250.00 in donations to the ACS in David’s honor. As of now we have reached 10% of that goal. Our team page on the ACS website is:

One of the stipulations is that we get a photo of us working on the sign as a group, (at least more than one of us.) My husband will be there to take photos. We can meet up at a local park. I’ll get back to you as to where and directions. I plan to be there at Noon, so that the sign can be ready for people to try to get photos taken of it with the Idols, David Cook and David’s brother.

I was thinking of a standard poster board with the following information computer-generated and pasted on…

In the center I thought we could make a collage of our favorite David pictures.

Then on the sides, hand-written short personal messages and our signatures (like in a yearbook.) If some people can’t get there early to work on the sign, send me your message and a link to the photo you want before 11 p.m. Tuesday. I can print them out for us to add.

So, time is ticking… I’m looking forward to meeting other David-Cook.org fans!

Most people aren't able to meet to work on the sign. But, I would really appreciate it if you could PM me with a yearbook-like message to David for me to add to the sign. Also, if you could provide a link to one of your favorite pictures of David, that would be great. I can print them out. I want to make a collage, but so far I only have 3 pictures!


This activity is an exercise in getting organized to promote David at the street team level. At the same time we are promoting David-Cook.org and directing people to our fund-raising efforts on the ACS website in honor of DC. Thanks for your time.

Karin (bluechild) and I met up early Wednesday afternoon to put together the sign that we all created together by providing photos and messages to David. Karin then took the sign to meet the Idols. She was able to get a photo of David with the sign, and DC's plus five other Idol's signatures on the sign. Thanks so much, Karin! And thanks to everyone else who participated!
