Cooked by Cook
I have noticed that our posts are getting kinda repetitious, we're kinda criticizing each others "fanness"(I know its not a word). So here it is, the next stage in the transition of Cookie's professional career. When we don't have all the interviews, and Cookie bits, and we have seen everything on Youtube a million times, and the album is still on not out, will we stick around? That's when the true fans, I believe will come through. I of course have no intentions of going anywhere, do you?
DavidCookieFan15
No Way! I will wait for david to come back from tour. I would wait forever for david if it came down to it. I am a true fan you can trust me with that. I will so not be going anywhere.
DavidCookFan01
I am not going anywhere either because I belong to Cookie's fan base and that's where I will be right here looking for more Cookie. Cookie can count on me always because I am here on his fan site forever.

I've been behind David since his audition and I have absolutely no intention of ever not being his fan. First and foremost, I enjoy his voice, his music, his talent.. it's just a bonus that it is backed up with the most amazing personality you can imagine and a gorgeous person on the inside and out!! Some fans will come and go as they do with every "entertainer" but those of us true fans will remain tried and true and support him in whatever the future holds for him!!

Well, won't the Idols (including david) be doing local radio and local television interview. the fans attending the concerts should post those and we can look at those for the whole summer!!

Over the next 13+ weeks (while the tour is taking place) I will look forward to our folks here on the board who are going to the concerts to share their experiences with all of us.

Don't forget once the tour is over - our David will be hitting the ground running with his CD so this should be an exciting few months and will carry over into years.

Nothing to worry about. rolleyes.gif There is going to be so much new video out there from everyone attending the shows that it's going to keep us more than occupied through September. And hopefully plenty of first-hand accounts of David encounters!! Maybe from me - I can only hope! There are also, I believe, going to be legions of new DC fans who are converted during the tour.

Being a fan of another artist who I talk about all the time so I won't mention him in this post, you might be surprised at just how much fans will be YouTubing every single song from every performance - it'll be a blast!! I never get tired of watching those, and we'll have plenty of new material to take up space on our hard drives and watch a million times.

Anyways, he/y'all can't get rid of me. Not a chance!

Same here. I was a big time BSB fan way back when(sometimes still am), but now that I think about it David is far surpassing them at the moment and will probably be for a long time to come.

I can honestly say, without a doubt in my mind, that I have NEVER been this into a "celebrity". And if you think that just because I don't hear from him in a while that I'm just going to drop him like he's not hot, [yeah, that pun WAS intended hehe] then you're crazy.

I totally, totally agree with you. This is where the true fans will shine through. Those who wait this withdrawl period out and stick by David until the album drops are the ones who are going to make or break Dave's career. If we stick around, the album will sell and it'll be successful and I hope that's what happens. I know for one, *I* will definitely be sticking around. I can't get enough of David and his music. I listen to him everyday, I can't go a day without listening to SOMETHING of his. Unfortunately I won't be seeing him live on tour, which is going to make this summer even harder for me, but I'm still going to stick around.

This is a really critical time and I just hope that everyone on here, and the other Word Nerds stick around and make David the biggest Idol winner, yet smile.gif

I am VERY excited for all the things you guys have mentioned on your posts!! I'm guessing we are not allowed to take videos into the concert though. I am wondering if they will allow cell phones....some phones have recorders. I can take little 20 second videos....but that is not enough for my Cookie fix. HA! Man, I have to wait until August 25th for the concert to come to Dallas. Gosh, such a long wait!!!

It has been difficult to fill the void on Tuesday nights....and yes, things will be a bit different without the talk show appearances, but we will adjust. We'll see him on SNL this fall...hopefully as a performer AND a host!! I am so eager to watch DC's career unfold. WOW! He is a brilliant artist! I will be here for years to come!!!!! smile.gif

I'll still be around! This is the best way to get updates on Cookie and I look forward to reading everything about him--what he is up to, what he'll be doing next---gives me heads up on upcoming events, etc... I know I'm a little boring, but I've never done this before--I'm just so focused on the young Rock God that I can hardly stay away.
I guess I have "OCDCD" for sure. tongue.gif

I can't believe I'm dating myself here, but here goes.....

As much fun and informative as this website is (and many others like it)...the repetitious threads, and the thought of losing fans are really nothing to worry about.

Fans have been waiting on the sidelines for years for their beloved, and their heart palpitations have never faltered. Sometimes it would be a couple of years between albums (yes albums! Stop laughing!) and you would occasionally get a radio interview or a snippet in a magazine to feed on while you wait. If you were really lucky, and it was getting a little closer to the release...you might get a television shot!

But we waited.....

Because, we loved the artist. We loved their music. We loved the thrill and excitement of getting our hands on the music when it was released, and playing it for hours in our rooms until it was almost wore out. DC will be no different.

His music is that good. He is worth every bit of the wait.

So sit back. Relax, and pull up a chair. You may need a seatbelt though....it will be a long and lasting ride, and I plan to hang on for dear life! smile.gif

Hey, not laughing here, I had my first fangirl crush in the 60's! Yes, I'm a geezer rocker. wink.gif

I think alot of us on here are in it for the long haul. Looking forward to getting to know all you other devoted fans even more in the months to come!

We're definitely going through a period of transition right now as we wait for the tour (or updates) and the CD, but I'm in this for the long haul. I can honestly say, as much as I love music, nobody has gotten to me on this level before. I've never listened to one singer or band exclusively for practically weeks at a time, I've never downloaded every single TV appearance a singer made, I've never gone two states away to see anybody on tour! I agree that this will be the test of the true fans, to see who sticks it out through the summer until the CD comes out. I am not going anywhere! I will continue to post and read the board, listen to David's songs I already have, and count down to August 26 (two months from tomorrow!!). biggrin.gif
Carpe Diem
We need each other more than ever this summer!!! With little TV appearances, we will rely on each other for news, etc. I can't wait until the tour is over and he is promoting his new CD!!! (wonders if he will ever sleep again?) Please indulge a little corniness:

Fellow fans, it will be "All Right Now." We "Don't Want to Miss a Thing" and we will be "Hungry Like Wolves" for anything about our Cookie. We'll stop in the boards to say "Hello" and to "Dream Big" about possibly meeting David on tour. "I'm Alive" when I think about DC because he will "Always Be My Baby." "All I Really Need is You" to keep me company while he's on tour so I "Dare You to Move" because this is "The World I Know." laugh.gif
boxwag
I'm not going anywhere at all!! I've never been this addicted to any one in my entire life, and I've had my share of band crushes (Bush, BSB, Finch). I've never given up on them, even when they broke up. But, no one has ever hit me like DC has. So I'm here for the very long haul. I will stand by the man in whatever he chooses. No matter how long he waits to put on a CD or even if he needs some time off. Hell, I'll even stand by him if he decides he doesn't want to do music anymore (which I hope to God never happens but ya never know). I'll be listening to him when I'm old and grey and telling my grand kids about the amazing man that is David Cook (I'm 22).

I very unfortunately can't go to the idols tour. dry.gif I am looking forward to everybody's accounts thought!!!

And as for what the site is turning out to be. I am kinda getting tired of the double posting and the random stuff as well, but I think that we are just going through a transition period. Once we all settle down and can deal with our withdrawal things will get better.

Nicely put! As a long time fan of Springsteen, we've gone through the same thing -- we waited and waited and waited all through the nineties for some of his rock'n'roll to come back into our lives, and finally it did and it was as good as it gets...."faith will be rewarded" smile.gif

Couple of observations as a member of a Springsteen fan board....

1) Posting generally gets heavier during a tour. Someone will be phoning someone else the set list, so we get blow-by-blow run down of the show. Everyone who attends posts their stories. There's always a few good reviews of the shows. We will have plenty of topics around here...

2) Although they don't "let" you bring recording equipment, you would be surprised at how some folks manage to record high-quality bootlegs of the entire show. Plus tons of people with youtube clips, mostly on their cell phones. Then there are threads about sharing/trading bootlegs, or posting an .mp3 of a rarity somewhere. I am sure that those tapers will be in attendance at least a few of these shows, so we'll have plenty of versions for our iPods.....

Not to worry -- it won't be dull.....

As much as most of us would hate to admit it, not all of us would be fans forever. I can't say that I will be. But I will definitely support David's career. I probably won't be around this board in two, three years but it doesn't mean I stopped being a fan. Let's face it, eventually things will come between us and David, may it be real life or work. It has happened before, I've seen it. But not posting on here or raving about every single thing he does doesn't mean you're not a fan anymore.

THANK YOU.

I have been posting so much less on here because like the original poster said, I am not happy with the direction the threads have taken. More often than not, they are picking apart his "tired appearance", his choice of woman, his mother, etc... I am sick of it.

I listen to the music I have (Axium, MWK, solo stuff, Idol), wait for my turn at the tour in August, then will purchase whatever David puts out in the future, but hanging around on a message board and reading the nasty posts isn't my idea of "Fandom".
