Thanks for posting this. I had read this a couple of weeks ago, but today I enjoyed reading the latest comments posted there. One 45-year old (QueSera) mentioned something that I've experienced (I'm 48). David has re-ignited my interest in current rock (esp. the alternative/post-grunge stuff that's really very much like classic rock... just a more current sound). Others in my age range have posted similar comments. But I had also observed what QueSera mentioned... now that I have like 20+ DC songs on my ipod, in my "rock playlist," I'm back to shuffling and am delighted to see how well DC fits into the mix.

Here's QueSera's original comment:

June 9th, 2008 - 5:38 pm What a fascinating take on the man and his music and his commanding performance style. I’m 45, have loved and still love and obsess over Johnny Cash, Bruce Springsteen, the Beatles, the Who, the Doors, Elvis Costello, David Byrne, U2, and on and on. And now there’s David. An unexpected byproduct of my fascination with David is that my iPod now includes music in it by Collective Soul, OLP, and especially Foo Fighters (their first and their most recent albums). My iPod library would most definitely NOT have all those artists in it were it not for David’s influence. Now that my music life has returned back to “shuffle” after a few months of all David, all the time, I’m enjoying how comfortably fits into my mix.

I've had the same experience, having my interest in more current music re-ignited. Sad to admit, but I'd never heard of Collective Soul or Our Lady Peace, BC (Before Cook). Since David, I've gone onto youtube and listened to both of them and I like them!

The last musician I had really gotten into was in the 90's, the late Michael Hedges (still like his stuff, his performances were awesome).

As an FYI to folks - our site isn't gone, we're just moving it onto new servers and it will have a new domain name. When Entertainment Hotline is back up and running the old URL will redirect to the new one smile.gif
