Full Version: AI tour packing list
David Cook > David Cook > 2008 American Idols Live Tour
DCcougar
I don't know if anybody has started anything like this or not, but I think it is necessary. Since the concerts start this coming week. We want to make sure we have all our supplies, gifts, etc... when we head down to our arenas to see our idol. There is ALWAYS something that I forget when i'm packing for a trip. If we start making a list of things that we have to bring, we won't be stuck without something we might need.
My #1 thing is bringing a camera with EXTRA BATTERIES!!!!

This is my first time going to an AI concert and I want to make sure I have everything! I hope everyone doesn't think this is stupid unsure.gif

Great idea! I've been keeping a list too, just so I don't forget anything. I'm coming down from Vancouver and staying in Tacoma for the weekend for the concert.
So far I'm bringing:

- Wallet (with money, credit card, photo ID, order confirmation number - to pick up tickets at WillCall)
- Camera, batteries, memory cards, etc.
- Cell phone
- Some entertainment - book (I'll be reading Shakespeare's The Tempest), iPod, maybe some crossword puzzles?)
- Pictures for the finalists to sign (I picked my favourite photos of each of the Top 10 and will be printing them out) and Sharpies.
- Depending on the weather, sunglasses, sunscreen, water, a small fan.
- My friend. Ha! Not an object, but I'm glad to have her company.
- Gifts and a group card for the Idols (if I have time)

missgloria
omgg i gotta pack for the whole day sincei 'm going there pretty early =) i'll come back to see these list so i dont forget n e thing =)
MellyBelly
What a good idea for a thread! All of these things are important! I would also recommend some water or a small fan/spray bottle. Last year in Pittsburgh I got pretty sick and "overheated" after waiting outside in the hot sun for so many hours. Lesson learned! wink.gif

Anyone going early, hoping for a chance to meet David and the other idols should definitely follow Lindz and enter the Sport your Support challenge. you earn big points if you get David or the others in a picture with your sign. Shoot, if you are going super early you could make the sign with other fans while you are there. Go to the contest forum for details.

Jess, thank you for thinking of those of us who weren't lucky enough to get tickets, can't wait to see the pictures and hear about your trip.

Have you been talking with Lisa? Did she spill the beans?? PM me, I had this really cool idea for Tampa!!
cooksgirl
What a great idea to make a list! Thanks!
Melodic_Mama_23
Hmm lets see...what to bring

-Clothes (plenty of them)
-MONEY (cash and credit)
-My ID....I will cry if I forget that!!
-Laptop
-Camera
-Extra Memory Cards
-Art Supplies (for making signs onsite)
-Sharpies
-Toiletries (DUH)
-What are those things that they put under your nose if you passout?? (I WILL need those if I meet the man himself lol)
-Tylenol (I anticipate two very late night and some much needed tylenol)
-Ipod
-Cell Phone
-And a suitcase so I can climb in and "accidentally" get mistaken for David's luggage.....HAHAHAHAHA
MellyBelly
These lists are all so helpful because it is easy to forget something you'll need if you're in a hurry. I'm thankful for these lists because I keep seeing things that I forgot. The post above mine made me remember how much of a headache I had last year after sitting in the sun for all those hours. Tylenol or Advil is a must, just in case!

My last experience with a Florida concert in the August sun definately left me wanting Tylenol.......

One more thing to add....

PROTEIN BARS....I get so nervous and excited during these things that I don't eat...I am hypoglycemic and I don't want to pass out before the concert. (Has unfortunately happened to me before)

Good idea!! I didn't pass out from the heat and not eating but I almost did last year at the Greensboro show. It was awful! I'll stick a few bars in my purse for my shows. cool.gif

Smelling salts?

I'm so afraid that when I meet him I'm going to burst into tears and be unable to speak!!! that would be horrible!!! I might hyperventilate only 12 more days.
DCcougar
Bump!! Since the tour started, we need this at the top so none of us forget ANYTHING!
katsluvr
Here comes another BUMP!
DCcougar
Another bump! Someone just mentioned on another board of forgetting to charge her phone! Another thing to put on the list!!
MySonsASoldier
DO NOT FORGET...

WATER WATER WATER, KIDS!

That much excitement will put your glands on overdrive and you'll really need to keep yourself hydrated even if you aren't in the sun.
tracig
What about binoculars? Has anyone who's already gone to a concert found them necessary to bring along? My seats are pretty good, but I'm thinking binoculars may still be essential for close-up viewing of David (I don't want to miss out on that).
*Nicole*
Here's my list for Chicago/Indy/Cinci/Detroit:

- Cash, credit, photo ID
- Tickets
- Camera (with 6 extra batteries.. yes, I get paranoid)
- Cell phone
- Sign
- Gifts for the Idols
- Pictures for the Idols to sign/silver sharpie
- iPod and mini speaker (to jam David outside since we'll be out there all day)
- Sunglasses, sunscreen, deodorant, water, food
- Umbrella, if it's expected to rain
katsluvr
This needed a bump, too, to help remind us...
