While American Idol winner and STAR Artist David Cook is on the road with the American Idols Live tour, he'll also be writing and recording his debut CD, and he's just gotten a nice offer of a collaboration from another STAR Artist. Last night in New York City, Goo Goo Dolls frontman Johnny Rzeznik told us that he's really hoping to collaborate with David on some songs. So why does the guy who wrote "Iris" want to write songs with the winner of a TV reality show? Johnny said, "'Cause he's real, he plays the guitar, he's got a cool voice, he seems like a regular guy, so...why not?"

Well, Johnny must not have too much of a problem with TV reality shows, considering the fact that he was a judge on THE NEXT GREAT AMERICAN BAND.

But I think a Cook/Rzeznik collaboration would be great. They have similar vibes!

I'm so glad that David has the opportunity to work with such great musicians like Raine Maida and possibly Johnny Reznick. I was worried about those articles saying he was going to work with Jesse McCartney. I'm sure some of you find Jesse to be a great musician and while his music is not my taste, I don't have anything against him. I just find that his and David's styles would be too different. I can't see Jesse and David "collaborating" and its nice that it seems that David is going to get lots of input in making his own record with his own style of music!

Good news indeed! I've always loved the Goo Goo Dolls' music and have seen them live a couple of times ... and Johnny Reznik is hot.

So ... I definitely approve of this collaboration.

OMGAH! I can't believe it! That would be amazing! Johnny and David? Together on one song? I"d probably die of extreme excitement. I'm all revved up just thinking about it. Maybe they could redo Iris or Slide or something. Gosh, I really hope that happens! David please sing with Johnny! Please! Wonder what type of song they'd do?

I had never watched A.I. before this past season, but I have to say that David Cook seems to have been given a lot more opportunities to help him succeed than in the past. Or maybe because it's the first time that a "rocker" has been given the title. Whatever the reason, he deserves all of this. Plus, in a sense I can see a similarity between the songs of the Goo Goo Dolls and David. They both have great, meaningful lyrics when you listen to them. If he does write with Johhny, it shall be a hit. I can already see it.

I have to agree with you there....there certainly has been alot more attention paid to David. I think it's because it's very obvious that he's got an incredible talent, he knows who he is and what he wants to do, he is so well spoken and an excellent spokeman for Idol and just a very personable guy. Hope he gets the chance to write with Johnny....that would be an incredible combination!
