I don't know if it is the same everywhere else, but I have made some observations from listening to the radio so much.
- Many of the program directors here are very reluctant to change their playlists. Ever. On the alt-rock station they play Nirvana, Pearl Jam, and Soundgarden as often as any new artist. However, since that is right up Cookie's alley maybe they will make a place for him come fall.
The Top 40 station has an odd fascination with early '90s crap. They played Baby Got Back during drive time every day for over a month. I have heard MC Hammer on there. And I have heard LFO on there twice, which is the worst boy band ever to exist. The lyrics to their one hit single are so bad they are downright Satanic. I figure with all this crap floating around a little Magic Rainbow would be an improvement.
Suddenly Collective Soul is very popular again. I hear them all the time. Especially The World I Know. I wonder if David Cook has anything at all to do with this.
