i was just on vacation for a week with my family and we were driving to cape cod (i live in pennsylvania) it was a 9 hour dirve. i had my ipod and i'm kinda embarrassed to admit i listened to david cook the whole time, there and back. never thought i was that obsesssed!!

This is not sad - this a GOOD THING that you listened to our David up and back from Cape Cod.

I know I have his music on as much as I can during the day. I have not really listened to another artist in awhile.

You mean there are other artists out there??!! LOL Who are they? Has DC done a cover of their music?

Good Point - every time I hear the original artists's version of something that David has done a cover for - David's versions are just SO...MUCH....BETTER.

yeah i guess its good but i feel very obsessed right now and its weird!! and i know what u mean about not listening to anyone else. i used to have my radio on alllllllllll day but i havnt for weeks cuz i just listen to david!!!

everytime i hear a song that anyone did on idol (mainly david) it never sounds right!! at this restruant we ate at in cape cod they had reallly loud music playing and they played billie jean and i didnt even recognize it! which was funny because i couldnt recognize what david was singing when he did it! my friend had to clue me in the next day!

Couldn't agree more, since falling for David many months ago his music is all I've been listening to. I love his voice and music so much that I can't bear the thought of going through one single day without it. It lifts my spirits and make my happy no matter how down and out I might be feeling .... my own natural high. Sad thing ... never, close to a miracle ..... that's more like it.

For an obsession like this, don't resist it - embrace it.

ITS NOT SAD!! the only music i listen to is David Cook music and Coldplay's new album Viva La Vida...that's ALL i ever listen to.

It is crazy, all I listen to is David or anything that is related to David. I started listening to MWK and now have started listening to TO HAVE HEROES (which are great) and then listening to Our Lady Peace and One Republic since I heard that he was going to be working with Ryan Tedder and then when I heard Jesse McCartney, I got his new album. But best of all I found Alive in Tulsa by Axium and Analog Heart on line, I hope that they rerelease these, I would love to own the actual cd's.

But, I know that I am not the only one. What has changed about your listening habits and has David turned you on to anyone that maybe you hadn't considered before?

it's not sad,it's love(maybe alittle lust too)..I mostly listen to only 3 artist..DC,Bon Jovi and Daughtry!No other music makes me feel the way they do!

My sentiments exactly! I don't listen to anyone but DC (and now Andy Skib on To Have Heroes). DC's music has captivated me, almost hypnotically it seems. The old versions of anything he covered are not the same now that I have heard the way DC does them! I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels this way!

Whenever I have a hard deadline at work, I always put my David Playlists on (120 songs in one work day is my record - tried to beat it this last time, but I was too darn efficient), and whenever I drive up to my doctor's appts (5-6 hours roundtrip in one day), I always put my David playlists on.

Somehow makes the time more enjoyable. The man is *gifted*.

I was affraid to open this thread... given the recent tragedy concerning Erika Marie and all... but then I did and was relieved! Not sad at all! I sometimes make it "all David" on my ipod, but I must say I've also gone back to listening to my full "rock playlist" on shuffle (it includes lots of the really good alternative and post-grunge rock and David occupies about 1/3 of that playlist). What I love is how well he mixes in with all the big name artists... on my way to work it goes something like this: I'll start with David, then it's Foo Fighters, Death Cab for Cutie, Goo Goo Dolls... oh there's David again!... Green Day, Radiohead... oh, David again, yeah!... another Goo Goo Dolls, Collective Soul, Linkin Park, Daughtry, DAVID!!, Carolina Liar, Coldplay, DAVID!
I'm telling you, he just fits right in like he's been busting charts for years!

Too funny! I kind of feel the same way. I listen to DC constantly here at the house and if not here, then on the i-pod.

Aww don't feel bad about listening to David for nine hours straight. It's good music so there is no harm in it. We go up to Cape Cod every summer too. What part of the Cape did you visit? Oh and if you do want to try out some new music check out Andy Skib's space page /tohaveheroes his stuff is amazing.
