I never seriously considered going to one of the tour concerts.
I never paid much attention to American Idol in previous years, so I was barely aware there was a tour. When David said he was looking forward to it, I just thought that was what he had to say. And I'm not interested in seeing Ramiele or Kristy Lee or Syesha or Chikezie.
But I'd absolutely LOVE to see David and Jason (and I'd like to see Brooke, Carly, Michael, and maybe even Archie), but my closest venue is the Staples Center in Los Angeles (which is a huge impersonal place, at least 170 miles/3+ hours away) and I don't know anyone else who'd want to go see them.
But now I'm catching the fever.
I watched Jason's videos and read his blog -- wow, he's so excited!
And reading of Lindz's anticipation and excitement and now stalking (in a good way!) -- I'm getting excited too.
I even woke up this morning thinking about Tucson and the tour and how they were feeling as they rehearsed.
Is there anyone else not participating, but starting to wish you were?

Yeah, I'm not going to the concert for a few reasons, but now with all this excitement I'm like constantly trying to think of ways to go, but then I know that I won't, so instead I start thinking of ways that I could at least go stalking. It's pretty contagious.

Yes and No.
I asked my daughter if she wanted to go several months ago, she said no. Every once in a while, I get the urge to see if there are still tickets available, maybe I can scalp one and go by myself, but then I realize that I'd have to sit through Ramiele and Kristy Lee and another hour and a half of stuff just to see 5 Cookie songs, not really interested. I'm sure there will be plenty of bootlegs floating around....
I'll go when he goes on tour solo.

I did for maybe 5 minutes, but then I went online to ticketbastard.com and discovered they tickets are expensive. The only seats I could find are on the far right or left of the stage and I wasn't thrilled about looking at the side of everyone's heads all night. Plus I've been to the TacomaDome and the seats are that comfortable. I'll just wait to see DC when he goes on tour alone. Or with a band.

Yeah, that's what I've been thinking all along. Those girls are the two that I really don't want to see!
And maybe he'll play smaller venues on a solo tour.
(My favorite local venue is the Santa Barbara Bowl. Maybe next summer!!
(Who knows, I'm seeing John Mayer in July at the Mid-State Fair and Jack Johnson in August at UCSB, so it could happen!)

That will be great. We can wait, can't we?
Who would you like to see as his opening act next summer? Jason? To Have Heroes?

what about me, i would love to be there but i also would have to travel accross seas..

Here's another one who would have to cross the sea. Yeah, talk about expensive tour tickets ...
Guess I'll just join the "waiting for the world-solo-tour club"
Doesn't mean that I'm not envious or anything. I think I would be happy to sit through a couple of hours of KLC and others just for the opportunity to see DC live

But maybe it's because I know it's not an option for me. If I could chose between an AI-tour and a DC-tour, no doubt which one I'd chose.

I would DIE if I was able to go!!

I would have tried to go to the Toronto show, cause I'm in Canada, but...it takes money to get there and I gots no one to go with!

But, I can be patient and wait for the break-out solo tour that David will hopefully do!

Oh David, please come to Calgary, AB. someday! I'll be waiting and I will do whatever it takes to get front row tickets!!

I'd rather see somebody totally indy and unheard of.

I would loooooove to go to Bossier City..it's about four hours away. But, no money means can't go. So unless a money fairy comes and deposits some at my door, I won't be able to go.
I would absolutely love it if his tour was a MAVID tour, with open act To Have Heroes. That would be like a perfect world for me, lol.

I REALLY wish we could go to the concert in GR but the tickets are to expensive so we can't. But I'm hoping to meet them after the show. This is my only chance so I hope it happens.

I am so glad I bought tickets when I had the chance, because I already feel left out and my first show isn't till August 14. My real show isn't till the last one.
I almost went to Phoenix to join Lindz on that first day but I thought that was crazy. Now, I don't think it was all that crazy, there will never be a first DC concert. And look at the hundreds of people that are out there now. Before it was just little Lindz and a few others... arrrrr.

Rami and Kristy Lee really aren't that bad. Granted, they aren't super great, but trust me it's worth going to the concert to see Syesha, Carly, Micheal and the Davids!

Go BEFORE the show! Seriously, less mayhem and better chance of meeting them! I was able to meet 6 out of 10!

I wish I could go to a concert...
But I'm in the UK, so it wouldn't have ever happened!
On the upside, thanks to the brilliant Rickey at rickey.org I feel as though I am part of the tour, as his live cellcasts gives me a feeling of being 'connected' to the American Idol journey...
All three times I have tuned into listen I have felt like I am at the concert, and got very emotional to be able to do something I thought was impossible..
I highly recommend it!

Sort of, but I've absolutely no interest in seeing anyone else (although I would love to see a Mavid dance for myself

), and I've absolute confidence that Simon Fuller will bring David to the UK and I'll get to see him live and uninterupted by random Country singers (apologies to KLC

) I can wait, although when his solo tour starts and I see reports, then I'll be seriously jealous (in a good and healthy way

)

I was prepared to go to Staples Center in LA by myself but my son accompanied me at the last minute. We got floor seats at half face value because (a) we always buy scalper tix and (

I didn't need to see Chikezie, so you can get scalper tix at half off after the show starts.
It was just a fabulous concert. Now I'm plottin' 'n plannin' how I'm going to get front row tix for his solo tour--with back stage passes. I'll have to put the word out to my Ticket Fairy. :-)

well, I still never could convince my daughter to go, but then a ticket angel offered me an extra ticket so I wouldn't be alone, and that's it -- I'm there Thursday!
I officially eat my words, after hearing the reviews, I'm excited to see most of them. (although I have to be really careful not to compare to the Springsteen concert I saw Sunday -- over 3 hours of pure rock-n-roll heaven!)

I kicked myself for not buying tickets when they went on sale. Then I broke down and bought tickets on Ebay. The tour only comes within 5 hours of my state so I have to travel. I really couldn't afford tickets and travel but I decided that you only live once and this is only going to happen once. Then I got rid of the guilt by deciding to take my mother as her birthday present. She'll be 65 tomorrow and has never been to a concert. I just hope if we meet the idols she doesn't tell DC she thought Archie should have won.<G>

Folks, to all of you still waffling about going or not -- GO!!!!
The show was so much more incredible in person -- the stuff on youtube just doesn't do it justice.
And don't despair if you haven't got a ticket, I know a number of people (myself included) who bought good tickets last minute. I got a floor seat up front at the box office an HOUR before the show. Lots of tours hold back some good seats for VIPs and give-aways and stuff, and then release them the day of the show. It's worth a chance....
And ALL of the idols were incredible, not just D&D.

Guess all you fans impressed him so much he's making the trip over. Way to go!!!
