I found this video today; and someone commented, "Why aren't there more guys like Mr. Darcy?"

I thought that there are still some men out there that are well-mannered and gentile. I would say DC appears to be one of them. What's your opinion?

I am sorry to be a nit-picker here, but while I am pretty sure David is a gentile, he has never really proclaimed it, though he does wear a cross, sometimes. I think the word you were intending there is "genteel" meaning "well-bred and with good manners". LOL!

I think he is indeed one of these, and many Mid-Western and also Southern men are. I did notice that the paparazzi rattled him enough on his recent date in L.A. and that he failed to open the car door for Miss C., his lovely companion. This was an obvious anomaly to his up-bringing, and can only be explained by his patent desire to get the heck out of there.

Thanks for your comment.
There's a possibility that he 'could be' a gentile, who is 'genteel', and also gentle. Peace.

I don't comment often, but as a huge Jane Austen fan and David Cook fan I'd say no. I would take too long to explain all the reasons, but in a quick phrase , no way. And the messy hair edition aka P&P 2005 aka P&P 3 is not a good adaptation of this wonderful book. Its a great romance story, but not what Austen wrote.

To make an Austen hero comparison, I'd see David more as a Henry Tinley minus being a clergyman. He is a gentleman who is a very caring person with a great sense of humor.

Hmm.....although I absolutely LOVE Ms. Darcy I don't think David is comparable to him. David is very well-mannered but I just wouldn't compare him to Mr. Darcy...he (david) is more "free-spirited" so to say.

No, I don't think so. Darcy, if he were alive today, wouldn't do a lot of the things David has done in the pre-AI pictures. The more behaved David we see today is not necessarily the true him. And really, not all dreamy guys need to be compared with him. In my book, they're two totally different characters.

mr darcy wasn't particularly good mannered, he was quite rude actually because of his pride, hence the title.

You know, I adore Pride and Prejudice. I really do. But I don't see David as our Fitzwilliam. Darcy was very reserved. And kind of a jerk. lol.

If Wickam hadn't turned out to be such a complete douche bag, I would say that David fit him. But no. lol.

That is a perfect way to describe Mr. David Cook! I love Mr. Darcy!
