I took the day off work to recharge and catch up on housework because I've been working late these last couple weeks, but it's 6 p.m. and do you think I've washed a dish or a load of laundry? Nope! I've been reading the board and trying to stay up-to-date on what's happening in Glendale. It's gonna be a late night and I'm sure I'll be lurking tomorrow too.

Lindz did exceed her initial goal of $100 that she set when the rules originally stated that all donations were due within 48 hours of your concert. Since we have extended the deadline for all donations to September 15th for everyone, there is plenty of time for Lindz to raise more money for The American Cancer Society. I can't say enough about this young lady, she signed up day one to help out, and has been extremely supportive through all the changes of our event/fundraiser. BLake and i can't thank her enough for helping us spread the word about Cook Fans Conquering Cancer and the Sport Your Support Challenge! i won't be the least bit surprised if she reaches her new goal by the end of the night, and increases it again.
I hope that she is inspiring many of you to take part in the challenge, as you can see she had/is having a ton of fun participating in the challenge. How awesome will it be at the end of the tour if we can let David and his family know we met/exceeded our fundraising goal of $10,000 (which by the way looks like we have to already increase to $15, 000, based on the goals set by the sub teams)for the American Cancer Society and had a blast while doing it! We will be putting a video together to send to David and his management after the contest is over that will include at least one photo from each individual/group that participated. We would love it if we had so many participants we had to make more than one!! Please come join the fun! If you have any questions or need some ideas, just ask BLake and I. We want to make it easy and fun for all to participate.

Yea, I hear your misslori. Ain't it nice when good things happen to good people. It is almost too good to be true. I have worked in a lot of high profile things in my life, and nothing, NOTHING has gotten me so enthused as this!!! And in the beginning, I kept it to myself, and then I started hearing random people on the street talking about it, i was like, oh my god, this guy must be big. This is really frustrating. You simply can't tell anyone about this thread (and parts 1, 2 and 3!) if they're not into this forum! They just don't get it. I have some friends that are die-hard Cookie fans, but they're not quite as obsessed and don't do the message board thing. My sister loves DC but she's just what you would call a "normal" big fan. So... there is no one else I know personally in my little world out here that gets this! I mean, it's great sharing with you guys, but the minute you try to tell someone what's going on... to "spread the word" so to speak... they just don't get it. Sometimes, they politely say "that's nice, David's great, cool" and then move on. Sigh!
(at least I NEVER get anyone saying they don't like him! Most people who are aware of him do love his music).

FYI, not sure how fast the text messages will come, her uncle kind of just told her this evening will kind of be a blind date (although she has met the guy before) for her as well. She is nervous, so we will just have to wait and see how many texts she sends.

You are handling yourself with dignity and grace and we are all very happy for you - one of your dream goals was to meet David - you achieved your goal and I know brought a smile to his face for seeing you over the last few days. She is at the concert now, but will post pictures and more details when she comes home from the show. Please be patient. Apparently people have recognized at the arena and it is kind of freaking her out. I am glad she is there with her mom!

Yeah, there are two tiers of fans. My husband and in-laws are in the "normal" fan category, they think he has a wonderful voice and is very talented. But they definitely don't get the extent of my obsession. Actually, neither do I, LOL. What IS this thing, anyway??? I'm not in love with him, but I love him, if that makes sense.

She is at the concert now, but will post pictures and more details when she comes home from the show. Please be patient. Apparently people have recognized at the arena and it is kind of freaking her out. I am glad she is there with her mom!

Yeah, there are two tiers of fans. My husband and in-laws are in the "normal" fan category, they think he has a wonderful voice and is very talented.
