We can't wait until the 23rd. I am hearing some great things about the show. If there is anyone else going to the Cincy show....give me a yell. Also, how do you get tickets for the meet and greet???? I need to find the best way to meet DC and get some autographs.
*Nicole*
Jul 2 2008, 09:46 AM
I'll be there!

There are no tickets for the M&G. You have to have connections to get them. The best way to meet the Idols is to go early and stay late. They come outside if you stand by the buses!

I'll be there! From past experience, you have to remember that before the show is their time, so it's best not to bother them. If they want to chat, they will approach the crowd.

Ok. So there r some people on a few other forums trying to get together a group to meet before the show. I think it is a great Idea. I am am still trying to get meet and greets, but as I am finding they are not easy to get. So, if u plan on hanging out before the show to meet them let me know. I plan to get there around 3pm. My daughter and I thought it would be cool to meet some more DC fans. Sounds cool

I hate to tell you guys this but it's nearly impossible to meet them at that venue. My friend has been collecting autographs and he has never met anyone there and he's been collecting autographs for 10 years.Basically how it works is this........The buses park where the venue is and under no circumstances and I mean no circumstances are you allowed near them. The venue will make you leave and if you do not leave they will call the police ( I said it's public property and apparently it isn't) so they make you stand across the street.Forget about them coming out afterwards since like I said they make you wait across the street and it's loaded with traffic. You might get a wave but they will not come over.Beforehand you can kind of forget it as well. They might wave and you can scream until you are blue in the face they won't come over.I think it again has to do with the US Bank staff they don't want anyone milling around or near thier property. I know someone said they met the idols there once but I hate to break it to you that was then this is now. Times have changed. The security is much more tighter. I wish I was making it up but unfourtunely I am not.I hate for you all to be dissapointed but it's a lost cause meeting any of them there.Ask Krista ( she posted here) she will tell you as well...............The idol tour hasn't been here since 04.and it's 08.Like I said they are super strict. My only advice is they have radio stations outside the doors ( where you get your tickets and are allowed in) they sometimes do meet and greets where you can win them but getting anywhere near them at this venue is a lost cause.Sorry guys:(

Jul 2 2008, 10:10 PM
So, I will be there. You will have to stand across the street from the buses at this venue but one good thing, I don't think they will have anything up to block you and as long as you are respectful and not too fan girly you should be ok. I have met a couple people there at this arena. I will be there just don't know how early to get there.
*Nicole*
Jul 2 2008, 10:19 PM
I'm still going early just incase. Security was the same way season 4 in Detroit, and season 5 they let up and I got to meet a few of the Idols. I know this is a completely different venue, but I think we'll be okay. They're not going to tell the Idols they can't meet us.. it's their own decision. They'll go out of their way to meet us!

Just letting you know so you won't get dissapointed. It is a possible but it's also a gamble too.But.......if you do have a gift and don't meet David you could give it to one of the crew guys ( They usually have lanyards on) They would be more than happy to pass it on and more than likely they will tell you if they are coming out.Trust them more than the US Bank people.Just letting ya know:)

So, that is a bummer about maybe not getting to meet the Idols...Oh well, I will just have to try something else. We are sitting in section 130...we have really cool seats. Would have loved the floor, but am only 5' tall....so I am happy where I am. Anyone still want to try and hang before the show...Holla. I figure if we travel in a pack (lol) we might have a better chance to meet them.
*Nicole*
Jul 3 2008, 08:19 AM
Last year I didn't think I'd get to meet the Idols in Cleveland. The buses parked "underground" and had to walk up a grass hill to come meet us, and they did. Some were out for atleast an hour. It was awesome!

I don't have tickets for Cinci yet. I probably won't be getting them until the week of or a few days before the show.

That's what happened in Columbus at a show I went too. They basically came out from under the garage but if you are going to go early.I think most of the venue staff doesn't show up until 2 so if you go before then maybe you might have a better chance.Good luck:)

I'm going to the Cincy concert as well

I'm pretty sure I know where the buses are going to park. I drive by US Bank Arena every day & see where buses parked in the past for other concerts, sporting events, etc. You would have to stand across the street along the river. I've been to concerts there before, but never have tried to meet anyone. I have heard they are strict down there though with their security. I would think the idols might cross the street to meet whoever is over there as long as the crowd doesn't get insane and disruptive. I hope security would let them if they wanted to come over. But look what happened with Lindz.....David defied security to meet them.
I'd like go early & wait for the buses, but the friend I'm going with isn't going to have a babysitter for her daughter until around 3 or 3:30.

As the time gets closer I figure we can get a time on the bus arrival and such. I heard they are strict so we. We can only hope for the best. I am not getting there too terribly early then have to wait for the show to start. I am just gathering info from others and seeing what the best options are. Keep Posting!!!!

I attended the Season Two Idol tour in Cincy when Clay was the rage. We saw a crowd of people waiting outside the back door after the concert, so we decided to become groupies and wait too. Kimberly Caldwell was the only Idol to come over and greet the fans. She was just lovely and very friendly...signed autographs and posed for pictures. We were all so appreciative. That's why I like her for David because they are alike in their kindness and friendliness.
I have pictures of Kimberly and those HUGE busses somewhere. I will have to look for them. The other Idols waved from across the street, then hopped on the busses. Clay waved out the bus window and I got a picture of that. It truly makes the fans' concert experience unforgettable for the Idols to come out and meet them personally.
I want to know why we haven't seen pictures from inside the tour busses yet. Didn't David and Jason say they would be sharing pictures from the bus?? I know they must be having a ball on board, and it would be fun to see it!

Good luck:) I am hoping for you guys. Just my advice go early like 12 or 1230.if you arrive earlier maybe just maybe the guards won't be around and you can hang but............ Fair warning if they show up leave ( not leave, leave) just wait across the street.I'd imagine DC would cross the street but I am not sure about the others. The only bad thing and this is the bad thing......US Bank is owned by Nerlander entertainment and for some dumb reason all the venues they own they have tight, tight security.I've been to another venue and get this I was not even near the buses and they threatened to arrest me.No idea why but Nerlander are sticklers on that stuff.

So, I am going to the concert in Cincy. However, I think I am going up to Columbus on the 20th just to see what I can see. I figure it may be easier to meet the Idols there. The Schott is a pretty easy accessible venue. Since everyone is saying Cincy is going to be a pain. Maybe I will get lucky and meet them twice....woohoo.

Aftewards is a lost cause.Since the traffic is super heavy and since the buses are parked across the street it's hard to meet them afterwards.Schott is easy to meet people ( I've met people there) US Bank like I said it's a gamble.Sometimes it's easy sometimes it's not.Totally depends.Basically it's a 50-50 shot

Miss Stacia: I have considered going to Columbus on the 20th as well. Do you know the Schot pretty well? I saw Justin Timberlake there last year but didn't really scope out the area.
I think I might try to make it up there just to see if my chances are better. Maybe if we meet them in Columbus we can tell them to come talk to us in Cincy, then we'll have met twice.
Someone tell me if I should or should not go to Columbus to see my chances. I need opinions. Its an hour and a half drive but if meeting Cookie is in the plan then I'd drive 1,000 hrs

I met Barenaked Ladies at the Schott. They are pretty cool at least the venue staff is cool. Before the concert not a good idea.....I tried to meet Barenaked Ladies beforehand and they told me to get lost.However....After the concert they seem more relaxed. They know fans are there and do not say anything.I've been doing this for ages ( meeting bands) and if you want my personal opinion go to the schott ( That is honestly why I drove 2 hrs just so I could meet Barenaked Ladies because US Bank is horrible and that it's not the easiest meeting bands) No idea why but for some reason US Bank has a stick up their butt lol.So drive the extra miles and meet DC.Like I said it's a gamble with US Bank.At least with the Schott you know it's easy and like my friend said he's been doing this ( Going from venue to venue) and he's never met anyone at US Bank and trust me he's met alot of people. Not saying it won't happen but it's hard.

Stacia, I worked US Bank Arena and their security is pretty strict. Maybe this group can meet and figure out a way to say hello to the idols. Reading other posts... can't imagine they would arrive that early in the day (12:00?), unless for a sound check. It seems like the idols are there for the fans and appreciate them. We would all love a picture and hug from David I'm sure...As if that can happen, hey, it actually has for some...

So, a friend of mine who went last year to the Schott said the buses pull up at the side and everyone stands along the fence and meets them. I am going because I know that it is a better set up than Cincy. Also, we can mention about the situation and Cincy and they can maybe fix it. I am going to try to be up there when the buses come in...I figure I can go shopping or whatever until they get there. I am not waiting til after the show though....what a mad house. Maybe if we get enough people we can all hook up. I will ask my friend when she is going up. I can't wait.

I have never had a bad experience at the Schott meeting the idols, the security has always been nice and friendly and never rude. It is a different setup. The buses are down a ramp and the idols have to come up stairs to meet the fans. I'll be at Columbus.

Hi Rachel. I am Stacey. It does look like we will make it to the Schott. I was actually looking for tickets and figured I would go to bothe shows, but I doubt I will do that. I will find out tonight if it is better to meet the idols before or after the show. I hope its before. Everyone is saying it will be easy to meet them there. I just thought of this.......... Perhaps the reason why security is so tight at US Bank is because of the tragic accident at the who concert years ago.Several people were killed in a massive stampede. So that is probably why they have tight security.

Just an FYI to everyone going early to the Cincy show to try and maybe catch the buses when they get there. There is a Cincinnati Reds game that starts at 12:35 in the afternoon on the 23rd. The Reds stadium is actually attached to US Bank Arena by an upper level sidewalk thing. I don't know how big the crowd would be at the game considering it's in the middle of the afternoon on a Wednesday and ummmm the Reds aren't that good (lol), but this may add some extra traffic and parking woes.
It may not be affect anything, but just thought I'd let you know!

Oh man, that's a businessman special game. Those are usually high attendance. And with the arena sitting right next to the stadium, there will be people coming and going everywhere. That will be a nightmare for security, so this might work in our favor. There will probably have the road blocked going under the stadium and arena. That would be where the buses will probably pull in.
Hey, maybe the Idol's can take in part of the game. That would be a nice break for them.
There is a parking garage right next to the arena. I was just there 2 weeks ago and it cost $12 to park. It's really close, you only go up two levels of stairs (or they have elevators) and you are right there by US Bank arena. I know there is one closer to the stadium that charges $15. If the game runs on time, it should let out just in time for rush hour traffic, so yeah....it will be a mess downtown. I take the back way in, so most of the traffic will probably be on the highways.

There is a short road that runs in between the two & I think that one will be blocked (they usually block it for concerts) but I think the buses will be parked behind the arena. There's a road that runs behind the Arena & Great American Ballpark & whenever concerts or the circus or whatever is at the arena, the buses usually take up one of the lanes of that road to park. The road is 2 lanes on each side so traffic still gets through. There's really nowhere else they could park, unless they take up that small road I mentioned. There is no underground or covered parking that's big enough for the buses that I know of.
DavidCookiemonster
Jul 11 2008, 06:26 PM
If I had to guess.............They would probably wait until the game is over to park the buses because they don't want to clog up traffic. If the game starts at 12 they will probably arrive around 3 or 4 but that's just me guessing.......
