Two days ago, I burned my good friend, Aly, a copy of Analog Heart. I called her tonight.
Me: So have you listened to that CD I gave you, at all?
Aly: Oh my god, Sis! You have no idea!
Me: So you liked it then?
Aly: *puts phone next to computer speakers and turns up volume, while singing along* ...And think of everything you wanted...(etc) *puts phone back to ear*
Me: I take it you're fan... *laughing*
Aly: This is the coolest CD ever!
Me: I told you David Cook was a God.
Aly: And I believe you!
I've been fighting her to listen to DC for a while, so you can imagine how smug I was.

I persuaded my husband who despises anything to do with reality shows or singing comps on tv to load some of Analog Heart onto his ipod. He came back 2 days later and downloaded all of Axium and all of David's performances from AI too.
The only ones he didn't really like were Little Sparrow and Music of the Night, but I understand why and I let him off, lol. His favourite is the World I Know, obviously a man of taste, well he did marry me, lmao.
He even asked if David would tour the UK at some point and when was his album coming out, I nearly fell off my chair. So if David does ever tour here looks like I'll be getting to see him, woohoo!

Maybe I should send my David dispising husband over to you, fore you sound like a miracle working

. I think it would be easier for me to talk a vegeterian into having a texan steak than to talk my husband into listening to David's music

I really believe that a majority of the DC-hating husbands and boyfriends out there secretly enjoy the music, but are jealous of the attention we are lavishing on this man...and not them. As soon as he gets in my car, my husband immediately switched off whichever cd I'm listening to (AI performances or Axium albums) and makes a face. But I've found him watching DC on Best Week Ever on at least three occasions and I found Analog Heart on his laptop desktop.

I turned my mom into a fan. I mean, she liked him on Idol, and voted for him (not nearly as religiously as I did), but I wouldn't call her a fan. Now, she listens to Analog Heart, Matter of Time (her favorite) and The Story Thus Far in her car. She'll walk up to me in my room, whilst he's blasting and say, "He's such an excellent musician. A great songwriter. I'm glad he was able to get away from the bar scene." (My mom played in bars with her bands for at least 15 years, and made a CD with a really small label, like David did. She envies him a little)
Candace just will not listen to him, though, on principle. lol.

LOL....men, they're all the same.....Mine says he hates cats too....(but I know better)
He was captive in my car for a few hours last week and I just couldn't stand the trip from Delaware to Connecticut without a dose of DC, so on went Analog Heart. He listened, but said nothing grabbed him.
I guess he just needs some time. He really isn't into the guy rockers anyway. (Basically he's just an old fart) His favorites lately are Amy Lee and Kelly Clarkson among others, mostly females with nice big voices. I'll need to get him some Carley. He'll like that.

Once I can drive, I'll have all my DC songs burned to CDs so I will listen to them over and over and over. XDD
I need to share the love.
It's been mostly TOML on the radio and I am always saying his actual work will be better! hahaha
Since TOML is so painfully corny. D: [I still have to stop working when it's on the radio so I can hear him sing it <33]

Ok, so yesterday, I was hanging out with my family of course, and I had burned three copies of AH, and I did what I had planned on doing with them. I handed them to random strangers. Seriously, I did. I just handed it to them and said, "listen to this." Of course I got a crazy look from all three of them, but if they listen to it and they like it, it'll be worth it. Of course, I'll never know if they listened or anything, but I HOPE they listened, liked it, and burned it for THEIR friends and family. I think it would be a great thing to start. Just start handing out copies of it to people we don't know, to get non-Word Nerds in on David's music.

Steph, I am planning to do that with Andy's CD! Am just waiting for it to arrive in the mail. You just inspired me to do that with DC's music too! Though he doesn't quite need it, he's got TONS of fans here. Who probably have it all already.
