RE: bolg from Arch Angel shown on previous post.

Who ever wrote this does not know what they are talking about. For one thing, both David and Archie recorded a TOML track so no matter who won they were set to go. Get your facts straight before you spout off your mouth.

Number two, Idol can usually tell by mid season who is the favorite (in this case David Cook)
they then pump up another contestant (Archie) to make it interesting. This is a TV show, by the, way and they want you to keep tuning in.

David Cook won this because he deserved to, not because of Jeff Archuletta. Archie's fans are going to be posting all kinds of things. It really doesn't matter what they say DAVID WON!!!

As for being cocky on stage, have they ever heard of stage presence? David is a performer putting on a show that people paid to see, it would be pretty boring without his entertaining us
now would it not.

Besides, let him enjoy himself! He just won American Idol, for god's sake and he is getting to do what he has worked for for many years.

Of course they don't know WTF they are talking about. Of course they both had to record that song but only the winner's was released--that's the deal--it becomes their first "album/or song."

I seriously don't ever recall so much hatred and venum being ever posted about contestants on American Idol before, not like those rabid Archie fans have for David Cook who were spawned on rickey.org.

I thought Archie had a decent voice for being 17 and all, but a lot of people have good voices out there that never got on Idol or would go and audition. Frankly, nothing against the kid personally, he's boring pure and simple. Sure he's got talent--but none the less--he's boring. I've been to High School musicals where some of those 17 years old can easily go on broadway. The thing is, since David Cook has only one song on iTunes right now--these idots are leaving these nasty comments. During the competition, David Cook was dominating the iTunes sales--his downloads were three times more than Archie's. If a non-Idol viewer would look for songs that were top sellers, DC would have popped up and what would they see were nasty comments.

Rickey at rickey.org found a way to put screen shots of the weekly sales of the idols during the competition and he eventually stopped because Cook dominated iTunes charts. He even encouraged his fellow archangels to go and buy the tunes for their friends and family to push up Archie's numbers so that he could then post "The Davids dominate iTunes Sales" however not mentioning that Cook's sales were 3 times more than Archie's sales.

I don't know why I am getting upset about this because there isn't anything I can do about the trolls. I guess I'm just feeling protective for Cook. He really is a SUPERSTAR and we got to know him during the competition and there is no way you would ever describe him as cocky or anything else other than him being a caring, compassionate person who also happens to be incredibly talented and a very nice guy. Nobody deserved to win American Idol like Cook did. He took a lot more risks, did his own arrangements, sang songs that weren't familiar (which could kill a competitor) and he set a higher standard for all future contestants on AI--he will be a tough act to follow.

So true!!! I logged on chat at Rickey.org to support DC! I actually told off all the Archie fans there that when they grow older, they would change their perception on Cook and men like him. I even told them that Archie should join HSM4 so he might finally be able to get his first kiss!!! One girl replied that Archie is way too much dignified for that. LMAO! laugh.gif I nearly told her that Archie must be gay not to have a first kiss at this point in his life! Lucky I still have self control that I didn't type this. But I got kicked off anyway lol. biggrin.gif

Thanks for posting these videos!!! David is a superstar!!! cool.gif wub.gif I'm so proud of him!!!

Archie is way too dignified??? Seriously. All I have to say is that after a boy reaches puberty and specifically around 16-17--the only thing they think of is SEX, getting laid--you name it. They would have sex with a knothole in a tree. Seriously. Boys would sign up for football, basketball, baseball --anything to make them jocks and women like jocks with the end result of getting laid. Horrors of horrors to be a virgin still before you graduate from HS!! Archie has never had a girlfriend but has many female friends and he admits he wants to concentrate on his career. Gee--any 17 year old who achieved national recognition as he has with tweens fawning all over him would have thought he won the lottery for scoring! Who doesn't have time for both concentrating on music and a girlfriend? We're not talking about getting married--just a girlfriend. Gee Clay Aiken admits he never had a girlfriend in HS or College and his friends are mostly girls. Correlation??

Whatever--he is talented but they've put him on this pedestal and have such a bad reputation due to their excessive behavior--they could harm his career. It's a real turnoff. Enough said....

I am so looking forward to going and seeing them in Washington, DC. I have pretty good seats. I can hardly wait for 14 August to come--but not looking forward to the summer being almost at an end.

I'm told it was really, really bad between Ruben and Clay. The lengths that the Claymates went to definitely demonstrate a lot of hostility on their part to make Clay come out on top. (BTW, I am a former Claymate. The year he won I DL'ed a TON of Idol performances from whatever file-sharing program was popular at the time. I bought his single and album for the same reason everybody else did, too). Ruben and Clay never hated each other, either.

It was so fun for me to watch season 2 that I don't remember any of that, though.

[RANT} Fanwars happen EVERY year. Every.year. Ruben and Clay were bad but you had to see the war between Kat/Taylor/Chris fans. So far nothing this year is worse than that. There are Bo Bice fans that STILL hate Carrie. The behavior from the Archie fans I've seen before and I roll my eyes. A lot of them are young, some are just hateful. There's one Archie fan on TWOP and also MJ's who's a grown woman but one of the most vile people I've encountered online. This is someone who was absolutely convinced Sanjaya was going to be a superstar and also was convinced there was NO WAY Archie was losing, especially in the light of the story about his dad being out (said fan though Archie had sympathy votes by the million locked up). If you want to see how delusional they can be and how far in denial they were go back and read Rickey's final 2 night as they watched Dial Idol, or read how they use to say iTunes sales didn't matter as Rickey tracked them all season. Every year there is always the fanbase of the runner-up who are bitter and are positive their fave will go on to outsell everyone. Only one year did a 2nd place finisher outsell the winner, season 2, and Ruben sure didn't win by 12 million votes - it was a statistical tie. [/RANT]

So Cook is obviously responding the the big hoopla that Cook overshadowed the "lead" guitarist in the back up band. The rabid Archie fans started that and blogeged like crazy about it just to put down Cook.angry.gif

Clearly Cook is reading the blogs on american idol forums.

You are so right. Archie fans are just bitter. Never has a winner had such a huge lead as this year. ITunes and Dial An Idol showed for weeks how far ahead David was. Archie fans are just in denial.

YOU SAID IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yup - David will be right up there in the humantarian arena with Bono, BonJovi, ect as he starts his Cancer Awareness Foundation.

As far as not recognizing the band - THAT IS NOT TRUE because the past three concerts he has always recognized the band either going up to them and playing with them, putting an arm around the keyboard player, thanking them at the end of the show.

I did read on MJs Blog that someone did ask David if he read the blogs and he said that he does read the Idol Forum on occasion. He also indicated to the person that in general we should all play nice together - I thought that was cute and appropriate.

Can someone please tell me. I am one of those who never watch AI but I watched this season's because of David Cook. So therefore, am new to all these.

I'd like to know how will all these bashing affect DC's career.

I'd like an honest opinion, those who went to the concert, was the cheering louder for DC or was it louder for DA.

In the long run, I doubt it will affect DC's career. I certainly hope people who don't watch AI don't know about it or care about what is said because he'll get enough airtime and promotions and people will judge for themselves. He really has survived a number of contraversies and they will continue. They wrongly accused him for stealing Chris Cornell's cover of Billie Jean, and not crediting Doxology for Eleanor Rigby. When it turned out that people jumped to conculsions and people thought that the judges shouldn't have given him comments that he was "original." Well we know that story--it was a pile of garbage and Cook felt compelled to publicly acknowledge it however, he did in the little snipets they do; but, it was cut out. He got accused of doing covers--when everyone knows all the contestants have to do covers. Then there was an uproar about him being a professional and that it was unfair because he already had an album (Analog Heart)--without knowing it was an independent album. People flocked to Amazon.com to buy it and made it #1 seller there. Simon accused him of being smug and arrogant and the public bought that for awhile until it was obvious what a nice guy he was and how humble and down to earth he really is. Simon publicly acknowledged that he was one of the nicest contestants there ever was and revealed that he preferred Cook to win.

Then there was the "knockout" declaration and Cook himself felt that was the end--he was going to take silver. Sorry, the public didn't buy that because those three performances were original and still are one of my favorites. They voted and voted for him and though his fans would have still voted--he got votes from people who don't normally vote. In fact, after the finale his TOML and those three songs ranked top 4 of all iTunes sales.

Most notable--Cook had 11 songs in Billboard's Top 100--Archie had 3. The record was 14 when the Beatles were at their prime in the 60s. His digital downloads 4 days after the finale were over 943,000 and Arhie had around 330,000.

Hopefully, this proves that people out there don't give a rat's a.. about fanwars.

I think that is one of the reasons that Cook wanted to avoid that kind of bashing and did his own arrangement of Dolly Parton's Little Sparrow. And it didn't stop there and he rearranged many songs after that. He is still rearranging his own songs all the time.

I think everything happens for a reason and that fate plays a hand. That bashing propelled Cook to rearrange songs and that got the public's attention. The bar was raised for him, but I think it played a hand in propelling him from a dark-horse to a front-runner. He stood out by a mile.

However, I think everyone is getting crowd response - some more than others. Both the Davids are but people are reporting it's clear why David Cook was the winner with his 5 songs--everyone felt they were at a rock concert. When they go to Utah--well that's Archie's territory. David Cook rocks it and he's a better "performer" and elicits crowd reaction. He looks like a rock star on that stage. tongue.gif

Reinharv,
Thanks for your long explanation.

There's a concert in Utah? I looked up at the schedule but don't see one there. When is it? Sorry for being ignorant, I'm an international fan. Oh, I really am worried sick for DC when the tour goes there. Am sure Archie's fans will bash him.
annette
I think when the tour goes to the Idols home state - whether it is Utah, KC, Houston, Tulsa, ect. there will be respect. I am confident that there will not be any bashing when our David arrives on the scene in Utah. As I do not believe that Archie will be bashed when the idols come to KC, Houston or Tulsa. At the end of the day, they will all be embraced by all who are in attendence.

Hopefully, that is the case. I think the venues they have already performed at have been gracious to all of the idols. The idols are there to entertain the audience and the competition is over for most people and people should just sit back and enjoy the show. The bashers aren't that brave enough to doing anything during the show--they'll wait till they can do it online because you never know who's standing nearby. It's their preferred and annonymous method of operating.
