Has anyone found out who autographed the hat and who David was so fangirly about? Thanks for the info ahead of time.

Somein' tells me MJ might be behind that . . . but lindz would know; she has MJ's siggy on her sign. Could be totally off-base that MJ is behind it, tho.

I read on one of the boards - cannot remember where - that it is from a guy in one of the bands he likes. It was someone who got to meet David - they asked about it.

David meet the band member and commented that he got all fan girl silly about it too. He said he acted just like his fans act when they meet him. It was really cute. I cannot remember who's signature they said it was. Sorry!!!!

I don't know if it's the same guy, but he did say on one of his interviews that the only time he was ever star struck himself was when he met Raine Maida from Our Lady Peace who's his very favorite singer and band.

I saw a video of David saying he was "star struck" when he met the guitar player for "OUR LADY PEACE" while Idol was going on in LA. Maybe it was him? I think it said "I'm happy for U", but could not make out the signature. I think it must have been someone he really liked, to let them sign his hat!

Oh! If that's the case, it was the guitarist from OLP that he met at a guitar store, DC said. (Not Raine) Can't remember if it was Mike or Steve, though. OLP fans, anyone remember? Think it was Mike, no?

I've seen the hat lately (not in person, but in pictures), and that signature is only a recent addition, I think. I don't think it was signed during Idol.

Maybe it's a guy from Hinder! I don't really know. I was wondering the same thing when I saw it. I just blamed it on Michael.

this is the deal with the hat; i cannot remember who he said signed it; but it is a guy (famous musician who he is a fan of) came to show in san diego; and the guy comes up and introduces himself and said, i am fan, and dave says, wow,i'm a fan of yours. so the guy signed the hat. let's ask andy, andy was there, he'll know.

Thanks for all of the responses! Not sure who said it was some guy from a band that he liked but it was no one she had ever heard of before so it went in one ear and out the other. I am just curious so if anyone finds out please post.

It was Steve, he met him in a guitar shop in LA just by chance. Wow, I'm anally retentive with DC info, I had no idea, I do remember reading it on here a few weeks ago though.

He said he got all starstruck and stuttering with him, I don't remember if he signed his hat though.

So cute that David Cook could get as nervous as all of us around him. Raine and Chantal just had a baby boy added to their 2 children. I don't think it would be Raine. I am glad that he gets to be starstruck like everyone else!

Looks to me like the first name starts with R, or maybe K, and the last name ends in "y", with a "t" somewhere in there, maybe.

It's not autographed in my pictures, but I know he got it signed before he got to San Dieogo. It was signed by a musician it Phoenix.
But that's all I could tell you.

The last name definitely starts with a D and ends with a Y.

ETA: Ok upon closer inspection it's not Daughtry cuz there's no downward letter that would indicate the letter G.

Aww I was hoping this mystery would have been solved. The first letter looks like J and the last name looks like it has D,L, & Y. I could be wrong but that's what I see! LOL

Looks like "Wes Daley" or "Ned Daley" to me but don't know any musicians by those names. Maybe the squiggle on the bottom is the last name since the "y" drops down to make it?

This mystery has been going on for 3 pages...
I wonder when we are going to find out!
