Full Version: How do I request to be added as DC's friend on myspace? I had no problem with Andy's?

The friend request area on DC's myspace doesn't look like the one's I've seen. How do I request that I be added as a friend? I noticed that his friend numbers have stopped and all of the comments are old. Even before the tour started. Can someone help?
Thanks

I've said this before, but would it kill anybody to actually bring this up at a M & G? The MySpace is obviously corporate-run and is being moderated. They have put some stuff on there recently but it's obvious they don't know what they're doing.

I hope that the fact that RCA has an official bio page means they're putting up something more efficient soon.

I agree, this doesn't help me figure out how to become a DC friend, but the site needs some work! Four of the exact same picture?! Come on. And the dark on dark type. This could be filled with a lot more of DC's favorite band links too.

I think now that RCA has set up a page - you can go into that site; click on add a friend and it accepts it right away. I just did it; even though I am a friend on David's Official Page. Will see how long it takes to be added.

Well, we have this place in the meantime. This isn't the first time that a fan website has done a MUCH better job than the official site.

I used to be a HUGE Tori Amos fan. As a musician a lot of her music is still very important to me but as she's gotten weirder (the "concepts" of the last two albums totally escape me) but back when I was obsessed with her she had an incredibly efficient website called The Dent that was way more inclusive than her actual site. She's gotten very web-savvy recently but I still am kind of skeptical of actual band websites, particularly if a major label is involved.
If the band gets to do it themselves, it's usually done a lot better.

I am kind of wary of MySpace anyway. I DON'T understand it. I think I'm too old but it all seems so random. Bear in mind that me and my friends used to find boyfriends by scouring the AOL member profiles and IMing random people
in our area. That actually seemed a lot easier. (But stupid? Oh, GOD, yes).

That's funny! Maybe DC will set up his own after the idol tour.

Can you tell me how/where you did that? When I went on DC's page and hit add, all I got was the message area but when I tried to send a message it said you have to be a friend!?
Confused

I still can't figure out how to send a friend request to David! Can some one help me? I see that new comments are there, but what do I do to send a friend request? sad.gif

David's official myspace site should be back up and functional. I know that what ever the issues where, it seemed to be resolved sometime yesterday. The comments look update to date and the friend adds look current.

There are STILL issues with the friends. The number keeps fluctuating. I sent a message to "him". I don't know if they are deleting people who are spammers or if people are getting frustrated, but the number is actually going down, which is why he's stuck on 96.6 K.

You have to click a little under the "add" to get the request box. The site is a little wonky and not lined up right, so clicking add will get you the message box.

I am sure that his team will get what ever glitches/issues resolved as soon as possible

the 'add' is off. if you click the 'i-m me'..it goes to the friend request page. Weird I Know. I remember having trouble with that a while back

Yes - you have to click in between the friend request and the I-M Me.

I have officially given up on Cookie and MySpace, but last night I did a little research and added way too many bands to my Friends page.

My observations:

Of the major-label bands I added, most were automatic adds, including Daughtry.

Most of them have yet to reach 200,000 friends. Cookie had about half of Daughtry's friend count last night, and Daughtry was an automatic add.

I requested to be added to the friends count of PJ Harvey, Rilo Kiley, and Jenny Lewis weeks ago. These are major-label bands with indie followings and not a peep. Rilo Kiley has something like 14.5K friends

Most of the indie bands have yet to receive the number of page hits and friends requests as David has in a month, but perhaps that is not surprising. Quite a few of these people have been around for a while but have fallen off of the radar.

Jordin has 114K friends. And 20 million hits. I found that very interesting. Is there something funky with MySpace and friends, or does Jordin just have a small group of loyal followers? Do most of the people who view Jordin's page care just enough about her to view it but not near enough to want to be her friend?

At any rate, I am so OVER IT. Cookie needs a real site. Daughtry has one. He blogs (text and VLog), there are news updates, and it's very professional. I know we're early in the process but I hope this becomes a reality soon.

THANK YOU! I haven't tried it yet, but I will.
