Full Version: I'm having an issue with our friend: The CookBot
Syndicated ads, like the bot, work on buying a network -- such as "top 100" or such. Advertisers have the choice to eliminate certain sites (like where I work for the corporate gig, we always take out TMZ and such). And I'm sure that owners of sites have the same rights (to say "I'll take all advertisers except x-y-z." And I'm pretty sure they can do that by industry/sector.)
I haven't seen that yet, but dang, that's a problem!

You dont have to loose them, there is a way of exporting your bookmarks from IE and import them into Firefox, it is real simple.
1) To submit your Favorites Firefox you go to the Firefox menu function called Bookmarks, and click on Organize Bookmarks. In the new window opened you go to the function called File and click on Import.
2) An Import Wizard will appear and you just have to choose the option of Microsoft Internet Explorer when it aks you where do you want to Import your Bookmarks from.
3) Then you click on Next, and then on Finish, and it is done.
4) On the Bookmarks Manager will appear a folder called From Internet Explorer and you will find them there or just clicking again on the Booksmarks function, cheers!

Hmmm, I don't think I've come across any Cook Bot porn (but as someone else said my brain/eyes have learned how to scroll past it without actually reading it for the most part) ...

If your getting porn from the cookbot, you definetely have spyware.... run an anti-spyware program and an anti-virus program - then make sure you clear your browsing history, cookies etc.
I haven't seen any porn with the CookBot. It is only David Cook and the acutal robot.

I haven't seen any porn from the Cook Bot, but like a couple others have said, I usually scroll right past it without paying much attention. Plus, I have dial-up, so it might take a few seconds to load, and I'm already a few posts down. But if anybody here is getting it, that's not good at all. Hopefully this will get taken care of soon.

Again, no, it is not spyware. It's the ad in between Cook and the robot. It's not a pop-up or pop-under. I have spyware protection. It's up to date. All my scans have been run. My firewall is working. It's not spyware. It's not a virus. I am not "getting" porn from the cookbot like a mail bomb. It's an ad - actually, many ads - being run on this site.
Tonight, I've not noticed them. Right now, I've got a death quiz ad on this page. So far, no butts or boobs or Jessica Simpson in a wet t-shirt.

Come to think of it you may be right. I work at night and check the posts when I get home. Sometimes 2-3 a.m. I don't recall seeing them during the day.

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I saw some the other day wondering what it was. Then i realized and was like woah.
OMG! I go away for the weekend and Cook-Bot has gone porn on us? Geez! All I've seen is ads for concert tickets, Kimberly Caldwell gossip, and AI ringtones... no porn. Using Firefox 2.0 here.
