He is amazed by the outpouring of support for a cause so close to his heart.

Annette, there are a bunch of people who have already made individual donations to the ACS in honor of the Atlantic City tour stop. I wish I had thought to set up a page like you did, great idea! I'm organizing the word nerd tour gift for that city. I figured that David would already have been given so many physical gifts that something different was the best way to go. His official gift for AC will be a card with a note telling him about donations to the ACS and the Save the Music Foundation. Of course his AC postcard will be in the envelope too. We are hoping that he will get a postcard from each tour city. If anyone from this board donates will you please either post here or PM me. I don't need your real name or the amount of your donation. I'm just trying to get an idea of how many fans donated in his honor. The note inside the card will read something like....

Dear David,

Fans who are attending the Atlantic City show want to thank you for sharing your beautiful music with us. We believe the best way to show our appreciation is to give back and help others. Sure Cookie Dough - I was thinking along the same lines - I too thought that he would be getting so many material type gifts that him knowing that we have donated to ACS in his Honor would be very special to him. If folks have donated to the Save the Music Foundation - that is really awesome.

Annette, you should definitely write David a note/card for Newark and AC telling him about the page you set up. I'm sure he would be thrilled to read about what you have done.

Excellent job! You know I'll have a contribution for you for my NJ shows/peeps -- and I'll hopefully have some points to contribute to you for the EWR show. We'll coordinate that in advance.

Everyone, the Cook Fans Conquering Cancer team page enables every city, team, state, or country to set up individual pages beneath the broader page for David's fans (which sums up total contributions).

We are already 26% of the way to our initial goal (not even 2 weeks since its launch). We do hope to surpass it and work toward an even larger goal before the tour ends. Because the larger team page sums up all contributions (including offline donations and matching gifts that we are made aware of), we will send to David and his team a note at the end of the tour that says "In 15 weeks, while you were rocking the tour, your fans donated $xx,xxx to the American Cancer Society in your honor."

Don't forget The "Sport Your Support" Sign Challenge, which can win your city/state/country/team an additional donation of $250 to the American Cancer Society. This is the friendly competition Lindz is in. We have teams across the globe who are setting up fundraising events to help raise money and have some fun along the way, too.

This is such a wonderful thing you are doing through the team you set up at tha American Cancer Society and I commend you on it.I did join in and did my part by making a donation to the American Cancer Society through your team. I will be going to the Atlantic City Idols Tour even though I live in upstate New York.I am so excited cause I have floor seats in the 13th row! I actually met Cook before when I got to see him perform live on the Today Show.He is such an awesome guy and really does care about his fans very much. You've almost achieved the team's initial goal; you're very nearly there! With just 2-3 days before the Newark shows .....

All - we are so close to our $1,000 goal. I know that this is a hard time for all of us with Gas Prices, ect. but if there is any way that you would consider giving a little bit towards to effort to help us achieve this goal this week that would be so amazing. Remember all donations are tax deductible.

I would love to add the $1,000 amount in the card that will be given to David with all of your names on it who have pariticpated.

I wanted to up date you on the status of our ACS donations in honor of David. When I left the house yesterday morning, the NJ Team had donated a dollar amount of $1415.00. I just checked our page and we are at $1,485. That is really awesome - thank you so much.

Yesterday, July 31, I went to the Prudential Center to see the concert and as many of you know I was planning on giving a card to David indicating the $amount raised along with the list of participants.

David did not come out (do to other obligations) in the afternoon to sign autographs and also did not come out after the Concert.

That said, I had reached out to the Prudential Security Guard Supervisor, let him know what my mission was to give this to David and asked him if I can speak to someone on David's team.

Ray (David and other Idols Security Guard) came out and I explained the ACS Donation to him. He mentioned that David may not come out and that if I wanted to he could give the card to David and as many of you know I also had a binder of well wishes to David and we also had a Word-Nerd Pact Binder. He told me to hang on a bit just in case David came out. About 1/2 hour later, Ray came out and indicated to me that David was not going to come out and he offered to take the binders and cards to David. Ray came out shortly after with a signature from David - so we know that he did receive the items.

Here is the letter that was inserted in the card for David. I did get a few more acknowledgments from ACS for people that have donated, but the letter reflects the amount as of 7/31 AM prior to me shutting down the computer for the day.
