I think of all of the Idols last night, David Cook was the only one who really got the message about picking a song that fit the theme of "inspirational week."

1. He actually chose a great song!

2. He performed it with a lot of heart and emotion!

3. He "unofficially" dedicated the song to his brother and to Lindsey Rose- (how sweet can he get?)

4. He had a message for the audience to "GIVE BACK" to inspire us as well.


Add in the fact that he was ill last week, his brother has not been doing so well lately, and the fact that he had to perform in front of MILLIONS of people and he still did an AMAZING job.. that just shows that he is a true superstar and deserves to win American Idol!

No other Idol had HALF of the emotional performance and connection with the audience last night that he did!

it takes a great amount of *can't think of word * to do what he did last night.
with all the stress he's probably under, what with AI and his brother and all, i just think it's amazing that he does great no matter what. alot of us were able to tell with his performance that it meant a whole lot to him.

I agree with you that David is really the only one who understood the meaning of this week's theme. He totally gave of himself in this performance and what it meant to him personally.

My friends thought the message was cheesy but I think it was a great idea. I mean, he's got people watching him, why not give them a message? It's not like he can give a speech and be like "It would be a good idea for you to donate money and this is why..." right on the show, but it was a little way for him to communicate what he would like from us. Now that I think about it, American Idol doesn't give the idol's a lot of time to actually talk, just short interviews here and there. I'd love to just see a long interview with David, see what he has to say about anything and everything.

i understand it's a singing competition, but with a name like that, it should be about the whole pkg and not just baded on their singing voice.
if that were the case, he proved himself last night and should win right now...

and here is a thought- Why don't they ever rip on little david like that- he has had more than one off week, he has forgotten words to his songs.. so WHATEVER!!! Maybe because they would be considered mean or something.. I just can't wait for Thursday to be over, and for OUR DAVID to be safe!!!!

I thought that was really clever and sweet that he wrote give back on his hand.

i thought he did really good too but in dialidol.com he got the 3rd lowest vote which dont make since cause i thought it was awesome he did er thing rite to impress ppl but i have noticed ever week david gets a good response from the judges and this week it wasent so good and look i think hes in the bottom 3 ok and kristy lee cook she gets bad responses from the judges alot and shes always in the bottom 3 and this week she got a really good responses and look shes safe from what i saw so what is up with that...

what is half of America only votin for who the judges like if so than thats messed up i think all us david fans voted for him and all the other ppl who are only idol fans voted for kristy and all the other ones who the judges thought were good...
