Is anyone here going??
StarrySkies
I am! I'll be in section 8 with my mother and my 26-year-old brother. biggrin.gif
pegmelissa
I am going to do my darndest to be there and be there early to try and meet them. I am trying to scrap up the money!
mljbray
I am going with two friends. We have seats on the floor. Can't wait!!!!!!!!!! I hope you can go, Peggy!!
StarrySkies
I hope you get to go, Peggy! *crosses fingers*

We're driving from Alabama, so it'll probably take 8-9 hours from where we live. We had planned to leave around 6 a.m. Tuesday, which would put us getting into town around mid-afternoon. I don't want to push my luck with my family, but I *really* want to get there in time to have a chance of meeting David before the show, so I wish we could leave earlier or leave Monday afternoon instead and just spend an extra night.

I am sobbing right now because it doesn't seem like it's going to be financially possible for me to go! I need a genie or a fairy!

Where in Alabama are u from, Starry????
pegmelissa
I have decided...to SELL my second computer so I can go to the concert. Crossing fingers that someone will buy it!
StarrySkies
Yay, Peggy! Good luck selling your computer. I'm sure the concert experience will be worth it. biggrin.gif

I live in a small town in southeast Alabama. I don't want to say which one because it is so small, but Troy and Dothan are both convenient for me. smile.gif

I'm getting so excited for the concert - less than 4 weeks to go now!! This past weekend, I bought my outfit that I'm going to wear - this gorgeous red top, black capris, and black Skecher flip-flops. And I think I've got my mother convinced for us to leave in time to get there to hopefully meet the Idols, which is awesome. If I know her (and I do, of course) she'll get into it too. I can't wait!

If I go, I am definitely going early in the day to meet the idols. Maybe we can meet up?

Oh. I'm originally from a small town right outside Tuscaloosa. So, I'd probably be more familiar with yours than you would think. Your outfit sounds really cute smile.gif I'm still finalizing mine. I'm hoping I'm lucky to meet him beforehand cuz my best friend I'm going with has a appointment at work the next morning so we'll have to leave soon after the concert. I'm crossing my fingers, praying and everything else smile.gif I'm still very bummed that they didn't come to BJCC (Bham Jefferson Civic Center) this year, but I guess everything happens for a reason, ya know.

If everything works out and we get there in time, I'd definitely like to. smile.gif It would be fun to meet somebody from the board, someone who fully appreciates the whole DC phenomenon. My family watched the show and are David fans but not to the degree that all of us are. wink.gif

I've been to Tuscaloosa once, in February actually - my last boyfriend took me up there and showed me around the University of Alabama's campus. I had never been there before - I went to Troy.

I wish the Idols were coming to Birmingham too. You're going to the Duluth show, right? Plan A for me was to go to Duluth with a friend, but that didn't happen, and I couldn't get tickets to Duluth anyway. I really hope you get to meet David before the show! Thanks for the compliment about my outfit. smile.gif (I bought my first pair of Skechers, all because of David, LOL.) I'm sure yours will be really great too.

Tuscaloosa is definitely a college town....ROLL TIDE smile.gif Yes, I'll be at the Duluth show on 8/18. If you would have made it to there you would definitely have had to meet up with me and the rest of my nerd friends going. I wish I was going to more than one show, but it's just not going to be fesible. Several people are going to the Charlotte show the day before mine and I've given explicit instructions for someone to call me after that show that night lol.
StarrySkies
Hee. Roll Tide! I'm a Troy State alumnus, and I don't get into the whole die-hard Auburn vs. Alabama stuff, but I enjoy watching Bama play too. smile.gif

Duluth would be a lot closer distance-wise than Bossier City and 8 days sooner, but I'm just so grateful to my stepdad for taking pity on me when Duluth fell through and offering to take me to Bossier City or Tampa. (BC had better seats.) I wish I could do more than one show also, but it's not possible for me either. If I was going to be in Duluth, I would have loved to meet up with you and everybody else. smile.gif
cookiesrock91
Yay, hubby agreed to take me to Bossier City too! We will be in section 5 row E....not as close as I would like, but just happy to get to go! smile.gif
StarrySkies
That's great, I'm happy for you! If you're in section 5, I'll be in the section behind you. smile.gif
