I met David Cook when he came to Kansas City, MO for his homecoming. That day was really the BEST day of my life! I thought he was cute on tv, but up-close, he is so adorable! I didn't think I would even get close to him but, when my dad and I got there, there were only about four people there. I started crying right when I saw his limo pull up. I have been with David since his audition. I automatically knew he would win. There was just something about him that said "I am the nest American Idol." Anyway, to get on with the reason for posting this, many of you might have seen me on American Idol when they played the video clips of David at home. I was the girl balling her eyes out saying "I want him to win so bad!!!" I took a big poster board with me that said sign me David Cook. When he was standing on the stage, he pointed me out and said "I'm gonna have to sign that, definately." That was the moment that the tears just started coming. David Cook is so amazing! I think him and Kimberly Caldwell are totally cute together. Although I am completely jealous of her, I'm sure I will get over it eventually.

I remember you from the Homecoming video. You added a really nice touch to that video. I am so glad David Cook won. He was/is definitely head and shoulders above the rest in many ways. He represents your city so well, I am sure you are proud of him.

I know everyone in Missouri is probably proud of David. I really admire his courage and the way he tried so hard through the whole competition. My mom actually saved the homecoming video to our pc. I had people that I work with and almost my whole family calling me saying things like, "OMG!! I just saw you on tv!" It was such a great experience just getting to meet David Cook and I know I will never forget it. He is such an inspiration to me, that I have gotten up the courage to audition for American Idol! They will be in Kansas City on August 8th so myself and my family are taking a little trip to the Sprint Center. Hopefully I make it!!

That is great news, I will be thinking of you on 8/8 hoping for the best. I think David is a role model for both young and older - and we can all benefit by his virtues as it pertains to family, ect.

It's always exciting to have a "hometown boy" do exceptionally well. Here in NJ we have Jon Bon Jovi and Bruce Springsteen and it is always exciting to have them in town.

Again good luck to you on 8/8.

I'm sure a lot of people have seen, laugh.gif and possibly saved, the video. At first, right after the the video aired, everyone at school and at work talked about it non-stop. I went to the city pool with my little sister about 2 weeks after the show and I had complete strangers coming up to me saying, "You're the girl from American Idol." I finally started replying, "Yes I am and I am very proud of it." A friend of mine and her mom went to the city just to get me a shirt. They brought it into work one night and told me that they thought I would love it and that hopefully it would help me to never forget the experience. I just laughed and said, "I don't need anything to remember that moment, it was the most memorable moment of my life."
Thank you for welcoming me to the forum. I really appreciate it. I signed up immediately when I heard about the site. We all love David Cook and I know this is a place I can come to talk about him all day long and not have anyone yell at me and tell me how annoying it is.
I look forward to further entries and replies I may, or may not, recieve.

I find it interesting that Caldwell attracts younger fans...not a fan myself, but I'm glad you met him. You were very cute on the video....
