I could have met David!

So my cousin works for a company affiliated with AI (he holds a pretty high position in the company). And I was over his house today (he lives about 3 hours away from my apartment) and I told him I went to the AI concert. And he goes into his kitchen and said "Oh, then you probably could have used this." He then proceeds to hand me a manila envelope with 2 front row tickets, a parking pass (sure would have come in handy and saved me $15), and an invitation personally inviting him to the after party accompanied by 2 AFTER PARTY PASSES! My mouth completely dropped. He said the evelope was courried over to the office the day of the concert and he didn't know I was going to the concert or else I could have had it. I think my mouth touched the floor. I knew he worked for the company, but last year he wasn't able to get any passes because he was in a lower position. ARGH! lol. He doesn't like AI, so that's why he didn't go. Alright so that sucks! lol. But I still had a good time regardless.

ETA: Thanks for all the PM's about the passes. At this time both of them have been promised to someone if my cousin is able to pull some strings. So for all of you who've asked, if you didn't receive a PM back then it's because of that reason.

Warning about purchasing passes online

So as you know, my bro's fiance bought passes. They were fake! There was one real one in the bunch but it was already used. So she got nothing. I felt really bad for her, but she's contacting the credit card companies etc. to report fraud. Another thing that happened, was in the Joe Louis garage this guy offered to sell me passes. HUGE RED FLAG. Don't buy passes from guys in the parking garage lol. I said "sure, just come with me to security to prove they are real and we'll talk." We'll he took off and yelled at me. So moral of the story is just be careful about stuff like this.

The great Detroit adventure..

So I went to the Detroit concert last night. I got to meet some of them, but I'll get to that in a minute.

The concert was awesome. I so wanted to get my picture with the big poptart because that's just freakin' awesome! lol. But we were seated kinda awkwardly away from him, so we couldn't.

DC was spot on. Every note, every nuiance just screamed ROCK STAR!!!

Michael Johns was so adorable. He made this comment on how he was doing the song that got him kicked off Idol and that Randy didn't like it but Randy wasn't there so he was going to do it. It was so cute. He was totally playing off the crowd.

During Jason's "Over the Rainbow" the whole audience sort of went silent and he has never sounded better. I also loved that he did "Day Dream."

Carly was amazing and gorgeous. I don't know exactly what to make of her style yet, but she's so good.

Ramielle was alot better than I thought she'd be. She's improved 100% and is really finding her voice.

Okay I admit I was not a huge Brooke fan. But I really think she did a wonderful job. The girl can sing!

David A. was really good. I couldn't hear him too well because of the shrieks. It was so adorable, a girl next to me started to cry during his set.

Chikezie - I didn't care for him on the show. He's a good performer with a great voice, but really not my cup of tea.

Okay, so here's the thing. I am not a Kristy fan by any means. (So Kristy fans may want to scroll down a bit). She was alright. I was a little perturbed at the fact that she had said "Thank you for coming to MY show." It bugged me. A few other people around me during intermission asked if they heard her right. And they were annoyed by that comment. So, yeah, that's all I'm going to say.

Syesha was amazing. She's got one heck of a voice!



So here's what happened before the concert:

I met my friend at Joe Louis yesterday and her contact to find out all what was going on. We were told that they could not secure us afterparty passes unfortunately But through a series of weird events I was able to meet some of them including Jason, Carly and Michael. Unfortunately we didn't get to meet DC. I was about 5 feet away from him but he was being rushed around. I can't tell you how nice Carly is. She's just so down to earth and so sweet. Jason's so cute and adorable in person. He gave me this huge hug. So that was exciting. After we spent about a half hour with her contact we had to leave because the Idols were getting ready to do press and meet and greets and rehearsals etc. It was all very rushed. (*side note: we didn't meet them outside* so if anyone asks I have no idea where the buses were)

My friend left and I stayed around the area. I went down to the river front because I never go down to Detroit ever. And guess who I saw again? I saw Carly. She waved to me and I waved back and then she went back inside. So that was cool.

Detroit Fans Meet up

Okay so I would love to meet up with all Detroit fans. I won't be able to meet until 4/4:30. (As my friend got everything mixed up about being able to meet the Idols. The contact couldn't get us access to the after show but said if she and I got there around 12/1pm they may be able to get us in to see the Idols.) My friend is driving home before the concert, but I will be staying the whole time. (I live 2 1/2 hours away). So if you guys want to meet up like in front of Joe Louis or something I'd love to hang out. Let me know what your other plans are and if you guys want to meet up. So excited! 2 days!!!!

Somebody cheer me up :(

So my friend called me about two hours ago sobbing. Her contact on the AI tour told her that in Detroit it looked like they weren't doing an aftershow and that unfortunately meant we wouldn't get to meet them. It seriously took me an hour to get her to calm down enough to tell me the news. I'm really surprised and a little upset because I thought they did one in every city...??? Anyway know otherwise? Or is this maybe because of all the craziness that has surrounded them lately? Any ideas would be great.
