I didn't see this posted yet so I'm bringing over from the Home.
From Hits Daily Double (HDD): Quote: YOUR WEAKEND TOP 10 CHART PREVIEW: As we head into the home stretch of the sales week, it’s all about the resurgent Britney Spears, whose Circus (Jive/ZLG) has far exceeded expectations and now appears headed toward 470-490k. Just what the doctor ordered—a feel-good story heading into the holidays. The only other debut that will make the leader board is Akon’s Freedom (SRC/Universal Motown), which should wind up at #8 with a projected 90-95. Otherwise it’ll be the usual suspects: #3 Taylor Swift (Big Machine), 170-180k; #4 Beyonce (Music World/Columbia), 160-170k; #5 Kanye West (Roc-a-Fella/IDJ), 150-160k; #6 Twilight (Chop Shop/Atlantic), 120-130k; #7 Nickelback (Roadrunner), 110-120k; #9 Now 29 (UMe) 85-90k; and #10 a dust-up between David Cook (19/RCA/RMG) and High School Musical 3 (Walt Disney), both trending toward 80-85k. Speaking of trends, next week’s Top 10 will break the recent pattern of domination by one or two labels and will instead be spread among 10 different ones. (12/5a) If this projection holds, it should put him at least at 472K...at least. At this rate, gold by Christmas is a very real possibility!

I hadn't seen this posted yet, sorry if it has. Was just surfing for reviews of "Light ON" trying to enlighten my perspective.
I'm posting this for those who may not be in love with, think its ok, are a little disappointed or are still on the fence with "Light ON." This reveiw may resonate with you if you are in the above categories. I love the song, but this review makes some good points and is not all sugar and love and I thought he had some interesting insight on being in a band. http://www.supersatellite.com/2008/09/26/i...cooks-light-on/

Do we live in a bubble. I read Michael Slezaks great review of Light On and then proceeded to read all the negative comments about it and it really pissed me off. Here is a list to respond to those comments
1. I am not a 13 year old fan girl (no offense to those who are actually 13) 2. I could care a less about David Archuleta and the stupid rivalry and comparisons. I have never ventured into Archuleta land to start trouble or anything for that matter. Hes not my cup of tea but I know alot of people like both of them, great. 3. Just because he was on AI doesn't mean he is some glorified kareoke singer. 4. I respect true fans saying they don't care for the new single, everyone has their opinions, but some seem ready to drop him just like that - not a true fan imo Do people who don't like him have better things to do than to post crap about him and comments under good reviews or polls? I have never even thought to do stuff like this. 5. Why the comparison to Chris Cornell? I personally have never heard Chris Cornell except for imo his horrible version of Billie Jean which I hated before I ever heard of David Cook. I liked David from the get go and I remember the moment when Ryan Seacrest said and now David Cook is going to perform Chris Cornell's version of Billie Jean, I thought Oh no, because I had hated it. But I loved David's. It is amazing!!! Many, no most singers sing songs not written by them, what is the problem? 6. Why does being on AI automatically mean 2 strikes are against you in the rock world. Give the guy a chance already. He has paid a lot of dues already. Its not overnight success. It very rarely is for anybody. 7. Have all the other winners gone through this crap and insults and comparisons or are their just insecurity issues. I mean I have never followed any of the other winners so is this just his hazing period or what? 8. I have a life outside of David Cook, so just because I follow him and he has touched me in a way no person ever has before, does not mean I am some ugly, no life, no friends, doesn't have anything better to do loser. No, it doesn't. I have friends, have made a lot of great new ones because of Cookie, but already had some to begin with. I have a good career and have many other interests. But I love David and am going to do everything I can to support him. 9.I'm mad that I am all the sudden worried for him, I was not worried for him before but all of this negativity makes me think that others will just dismiss him because yeah, he was that guy that stole credit for covering covers and maybe looks halfway decent that won American Idol, but he'll go the way of Aiken an Hicks and Bice. 10. WTF is wrong with the occasional squeee and plodd? (just had to through that in to get an even ten points) I'm sorry about this but I just had to vent to somebody. I would appreciate all comments. Keep in mind that I'm in reaction mode right now. I'm going to eat dinner with my husband now, but will be happy to respond to any comments when I get back.

Hey, I'm just getting a chance to write about how fabulous yesterday in Evansville was, except the weather which felt like the Amazon rain forest.
Heres the link first- theres about 150 pics and they aren't in order, I havent had a chance to organize yet. http://martyk74.smugmug.com/gallery/595109...370963388_spZyV Cookie came out and signed for a real long time and took his time with everyone. I brought flags and handed them out to a bunch of people and we had a big 3x5 foot one hanging up. We he first came out from around the buses, I was the first to spot him and I screamed real loud and everybody joined in. The lady I went with drove in from Tennessee to come with me. She made three signs. We hung one up at the barricades that said God Bless the USA, Cook and Backbends. He said he didn't know if the backbend would make an appearance. More on that later... It was Carly's and Chik"s bdays and some fans brought balloons and gifts and cake and all kinds of stuff for them. Carly was given a crown and royal robe to wear. Michael Johns and David Cook were given superman caps to wear and Micheal had on a Burger King Crown. David left a voice message on a fans cell phone that was real cute. We had a great time!!!!! It was amazing and I was spellbound by him. So I snuck my professional camera into the stadium but not too long into David's set, security spotted me and put the kibosh on using it. So there are some of him and Michael Johns. Oh by the way, we had 4th row directly in front of the catwalk, excellent. We had two other signs and the flag. He held it up a couple of times like during Kristi Lee's God Bless the USA and she pointed at us. We also made an appearance with it on the screens. They had a moment for the trumpet player to play Taps in memory of Sept 11 which was very moving. And David dedicated My Hero to his brother and in memory of that day. We had 2 signs. One real silly that I had the idea after reading a comment he made in the tour book about thanking Grover Cleveland for the "stache" So we made a sign that said We love Grover's "stache" too and Grant's beard. He saw it from the stage and laughed while he was signing. Then during Billie Jean, we held up our Billie Jean Backbend for Evansville sign and he saw that and kinda looked at us like we were naughty, but WE GOT THE BACKBEND!!! He winked at my friend over this. Too bad I couldn't take a picture of that. We had an awesome time and meet soooooo many nice fellow wordnerds. I loved the whole time, except the weather. I'm probably forgetting something but I was beside myself with excitement the whole time. I'll put this in the picture section as well. Couldn't decide where would be best place.
