I wanted to do a poll of your favorite Mavid. I was looking around and couldn't find it....if there already is one, please direct me to it. If not, I'll start:
PROVIDENCE, SODA SMASHERS

Hi everyone, I've debated writing about this topic but I am going to anyway just to see some feedback. It's OK to be honest, I appreciate it.
I've been reading about some people trying to meet the buses at certain venues to try and get a change to meet their favorite idol..in our case, David Cook but.......some people don't have tickets to the show. I know these venues are public places, and hanging out is legal and everything, but here is my point. There are many fans who paid money (and sometimes big money if they got from ebay or stubhub) and meeting the Idols before the show is a priviledge to them as they have supported the top 10 and American Idol as a whole by buying a ticket. Others who can't afford tickets, or can't go to the shows have mentioned going to "meet the buses" and waiting to meet their idol. I personally have went to the Worcester MA show and didn't get a chance to meet the buses, but waited afterwards and got a few signatures (obviously, not DC). I am now going to the Providence show and have plans to go for the day to try and get a minute with DC for a picture, an autograph, a smile, whatever it is - I will take it. I obviously want every fan that is going to the show and spending the day to get that moment with their favorite but I personally would be disappointed if time was limited....and others that are not going to the show got to get their "moment" and I didn't. Especially if they've had "other moments" before. Hopefully I won't hate replies here by those people who do go and just meet the buses but I just wanted to state my feelings. On another note, I compare it to this. Say you have a really good up close seat for the concert and someone from waaaaaay back on the floor came and stood up by the stage - crowding you, or blocking your view. Would you get a little mad at that person or ask them to take a seat ? They didn't pay to stand so close or possibly catch a flying DC guitar pick....you did right ? Thanks for listening and interested to hear your thoughts.

OK, I can't really sleep so I am up typing to all u DC lovers. My significant other could care less about my awesome time, so I will share with you. Pictures will follow tomorrow.
So, we had awesome seats, next to the catwalk - about 4th row. Waiting for DC was an anxious experience. Not that I don't appreciate the talent of others, but I really was only there for DC. When he first came out singing Hello, it was only like the second line of the song and he saw my sign and smiled at it, I almost had a heart attack. The whole concert felt like this little love affair between him and me as we made eye contact a few times and I got some great smiles and waves. I had this cool gift of a LA Dodgers bear, a word book that I wrote this nice inscription on, and I wrapped it in a pair of underwear. Kinda corny but it was like this little package of love from me. He really couldn't reach from the stage to the front row, so I threw it during Time Of My Life. He totally smiled at it, picked it up and brought it to his stool next to his water. It was so awesome !! If anyone saw this, or has a picture of him and my gift, please let me know ! I have one but it not very good. His whole set was great - I was amazed. He is so down to earth, cool, and totally the perfect package. If he is still with KC, she is a lucky gal and I hope she knows how good she has it. At the end of the show, before he walked up the stairs to descend under the stage, he took my gift from the stool with him up the stairs and down the platform underground. I totally imagined him laughing at it, and hopefully he had a chance to read what I wrote inside. I was the only one who gave him anything while he was on stage. Oh, and he threw a pick in my direction, it landed on the floor, and this lady next to me found it right before I did. I was a little sad, but I wouldn't let it ruin my evening. We waited for him afterwards to come out but he never did (unless he did after I left). But Brooke, Syesha, Jason, Kristi Lee, Michael and Carly came out and I got most of their autographs. I think Archie may have come out as we saw his dad, but I was totally smooshed against this metal gate, and I had to leave. I also thought I saw this lady tell people that DC wasn't coming out so I don't think I missed him. If I did, don't tell me. Anyway, I wanted to share with everyone and hope that people can have awesome memories like me. Have fun if you are going to a concert soon. Amy oh and you guys are really going to love my pics - he had the same outfit on from the Hartford show, but I was soooo close and got the best shots of EVERYTHING !!

Hi everyone ! Who is going to the Worcester MA show Saturday 8/9 ? My sister in law and I have 6th row ! I've been waiting for months and months it seems ! We won't make it there in time for the buses although since they are just about 1-2 hours away in Hartford CT the night before they may just drive there after the Hartford show !
I'm getting excited !! I have a gift for David I hope I can get to the stage during his set. |
