Words in Foreign Languages

I figured since there are many different nationalities that post here, we should take advantage of the opportunity to learn new words.... in a foreign language. Maybe we can have a new set of 5 or 6 words/phrases every week. So let's start out with the basics.

Translation: English-Filipino

Good morning - Magandang umaga
Good afternoon - Magandang hapon
Good evening - Magandang gabi
Thank you - Samalat
I love you - Mahal Kita
Goodbye - Paalam

Btw, you can vote up to 25 times. Archie is beating Cook handily in the poll which isn't really a surprise since I found the link in one of Archie's threads. Apparently, they've been powervoting on this one. Personally, I don't mind if Cookie doesn't get this since he's been getting enough publicity and he's busy working on other stuff, but if it drums up additional publicity before his new album then it's all good.

Dear Mr. Cook,

It's just over ten hours before your final 3 competition performances. This season has been long and arduous. We have seen you weary and tired but we have also seen you joyful and exuberant. Through this entire seasons, you have given us countless hours of entertainment.

My wish for you is a wonderful performance night. One that would bring you as much joy as when you first stepped on the big idol stage to perform Eleanor Rigby. One that would make you jump up and down in joy and excitement.

I wish you great performances for all of your three songs. Not only from the perspective of an audience but from the perspective of an artist. I wish for you a performance that you will remember for the rest of your life.

I wish most of all that you never forget that the journey is as important as the end. That you don't become jaded and cynical. That you will always remember the joy that music brings to others and ultimately to yourself.

Take care of your voice and rock on tonight and for the rest of your life!
