Hi everyone, Maybe some of you have seen "The World I Know" thread on the AI forum. It has some deeply felt, beautiful tributes to David and the meaning of his final Tuesday performance of TWIK on the show. There's discussion that it would be a perfect ending to the tour if David sings it as his final song in Tulsa; that it would just bring the circle around as a fantastic way for him to cap off the whole tour and the whole year.
I love the idea. I think it would bring the house down. (If you think it was loud last night in Kansas City!!) However, there are TPTB, and more important, no way to know how David would feel about doing it. I know that he said in a recent interview that they have to do the same songs for technical reasons. But as this would just be once, the one last song, kind of hoping maybe.. just maybe... Wouldn't be too hard; it could be either in place of, or in addition to, Billie Jean. Hoping he peeks in at that thread, we figure it can't hurt to ask him nicely and tell him that we think it would be amazing. If you'd also like to see that happen, please talk about it here, too. And since the TWIK thread on the AI board has been around a while, (and it's a really good one if you haven't seen it yet), and Tulsa is coming up soon, it would be great to visit over there and just give it a bump to let TPTB, as well as David, know you'd like it. Here's hoping.

This is not to say anyone in particular has behaved badly, but if you've seen other posts (at least on the AI board), it seems he was really sick yesterday (especially during the show), so it is a huge testament to him that he came out yesterday and tried his absolute hardest to be there for his fans. He is one incredible man.
I read elsewhere that he told a security guard, when all the screaming and shoving was happening, that he "couldn't handle it." Please, everyone who has yet to meet him, please don't ask for more and more of him. You have to keep in mind how stressful it's got to be when he's trying so hard, to have people keep asking him for one more thing, and to shove things at him, and to scream in his face. It would be bad enough when you feel well, but imagine what it felt like to him to see people pushing and shoving and screaming. Please remember that wn pledge of good behavior; it's really shown itself at some tour stops, and he is clearly happiest when people take it seriously. Please, be patient, be sweet to him, be happy with your brief meeting and don't ask more than your fair share and please give other people a chance, don't ever shove, don't scream in his face, please, please, please treat him kindly. This will make him happy and healthy. Just please treat him like the wonderful human being he is and has shown us we can all be. |
