Found this well written blog on RealPlayer's film.com. The blogger brings out a good point about the whole "Cougars for Cook" thing maybe getting too much publicity and hurting David's credibility long-term. What do you all think?

When I'm looking for new items about DC, I go to yahoo "buzz". David has been in the top 10 yahoo searches since the day after he won the title. Today when I "buzzed" DC, I got an article which mentions his attending the Robin Hood Foundation Dinner while he was in NYC. Here is the link: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/verena-von-pfetten/robin-hood-foundation-rai_b_104465. Sounds like the "guests" disrupted the dinner so they could get David's autograph. I guess this could be taken negatively, but I think it's interesting that it was the other guests at the dinner not fans outside or something that mobbed him. Proves he's popular with other celebrities and movers and shakers as well as the average people like me.

I don't know how to post articles, but today I came across one on the Vote for the Worst website that says that according to David Archuletta's vocal coach..."the fix was in for Cook to win..." They claim that Archie was supposed to sing "I Don't Want to Miss A Thing" in final 3 week but the song was taken from him and given to David Cook, that Archie was told to sing "Longer" slower and more ballady that night instead of the more updated uptempo version he wanted to sing, and that Syesha was told that she couldn't use strings in one of her performances, but then they gave DC strings for IDWTMAT. The gist of the article seems to be saying that producers/judges realized that they had a potential goldmine in Cook, and deliberately started "pimping" him for the win. How they explain Simon and Randy's gushing and knockout comments during final 2 night isn't mentioned. I said in a post here a day or two ago, that I thought the producers/judges were well aware that our David was WAY out in front in the voting and that maybe they praised Archie so much the last night to try to make the vote closer. No one here really commented on that theory. So what do you all think about this? Is this a possibility? Vote for the Worst had been saying all season that they think that DC was one of the only "non-plant" contestants this season, but that the last few weeks have them wondering if he WAS a "plant" from the beginning. If someone knows how to get the article posted here, everyone could read it. I found it by doing a "Live Search" on David Cook. It comes up on page 2. Thanks. Curious to know what you all think!
