Just got a voice message from David wishing us Happy Thanksgiving. I figured he would do that. Why did such a simple thing make my day? I don't know.

Hope this isn't posted somewhere else. I found this interview very interesting. Raine does say some very flattering things about David Cook in this interview, but that isn't why I'm posting it. It is a great read if you have the time.

I attended Andy's latest performance last night in San Diego at Dream Street Live and realized that we didn't really have a thread here to talk about THH. So, here ya go..
Dream Street Live is a great little place located in the town of Ocean Beach. My husband and I made the trek down there from El Segundo (about 120 miles) and Andy made it well worth the trip. He gave everyone a terrific set of his songs plus some covers. The place had a nice crowd. Some were fans, some family and friends and some just locals that go there in the evening to hang out. I think that everyone enjoyed Andy's music. What I can't get over is how wonderful he sounds just him and his guitar. The accoustics were very good, IMO, and his voice sounded fantastic and the music just filled the room. My smile got bigger and bigger as the set went on until my face actually hurt from smiling so much. I actually got a little teary eyed (I'm such a sap) during the last number. I really love Andy's music. There is something about it that touches me for some reason. And the guy, himself, is a sweetheart. I definitely plan on attending all of his stuff here in California. I'm totally hooked. If Andy plays anywhere near you, don't hesitate to go. Also, go over to his MySpace page and purchase his music. I don't think you will be disappointed. What a talent he is! Hi, David
I have been thinking about posting something here for awhile. It has been difficult trying to figure out what to say, though. I’m certainly not going to gush and tell you that I love you as so many people do. I don’t know you, so I think that would come off not being real. I can, though, tell you how much I do love your performances and the songs I have heard that you have written. I’m so impressed with your ability to convey thoughts and feelings in an intelligent way through your music. I have found your songs to have pleasing melodies and chord progressions, which is always a plus to me. I’m not one to go for just screaming and loud music. It needs some sort of quality to it, which I think yours does. I enjoyed your performances on Idol primarily because you were not afraid to do what you wanted to do. Also, I got the impression that you were a very nice person to be around and would probably be a hoot to hang with and talk over a beer. I found it very interesting that it was not your idea to audition and yet, here you are the winner. How do you really feel about that? How does it feel to have so many people notice you and want you to notice them when that wasn’t the case not all that long ago? Makes you wonder what it was that happened, doesn’t it? I think it would difficult for me to wrap my mind around. Are they liking me because I’m a winner on a TV show, or do they really like me for me? I’m glad I’m not in your shoes, actually. Your life certainly has been changed forever, both in good ways and in not so good ways. That being said, I have faith that you will handle it all very well. Your intelligence, your sense of humor and your honesty, combined with your tremendous talent, will take you far. There are so many very good indie artists out there that pray for that one big break that will enable the music world to finally notice them. I am grateful that this reality show called AI gives a few of them that chance and am tickled that you are one of them. Cheesy and sappy…yes. But it gets the job done if you are willing and able to take it on. Now, the show is over and the fun is about to really begin for you. Hopefully the payoff for all of your hard work and sacrifices will be a glorious one. I’ll be there in the background putting the word out about just how great I think you are, purchasing your CDs and pumping my fist at as many concerts I can manage. I hope that your future is everything you hope it to be. I’m looking forward to what lies ahead for you. Rock on, my dear. Jeannine |
