How do you reset an omnipod?
We had to do the following:
- Insert paperclip for 2 seconds (in the battery compartment area.)
- Dispose of the current POD.
- Reset the date/time/etc., on the PDM.
- Apply a new POD.
What causes a omnipod failure?
This recall is a result of the cannula failing to fully deploy or completely retract which may result in the patient not receiving the intended dose. The Pod may also trigger an alarm indicating that it will no longer deliver insulin and need to be replaced.
How do I activate my omnipod PDM?

Set up your Personal Diabetes Manager (PDM) using the Omnipod® System Setup Wizard.
- Insert the AAA batteries included with your PDM into the battery compartment on the back of the PDM.
- The Setup Wizard appears the first time you turn on your PDM. It will guide you through the setup process.

As intended by the design, at 72 hours of wear, a Pod expiry alarm will sound from the Omnipod DASH® PDM. If the Pod is still in use, this will continue to sound every subsequent hour during the 72 to 79 hours of wear until the Pod is deactivated.

How do I turn on the dashboard PDM?

- Tap BG Meter Pairing Instructions.
- Follow the on-screen instructions, then tap “Start Search”
- Select the Device to pair from available meters.
- Your PDM is now paired with your blood glucose meter.
What CGM works with Omnipod?
The Dexcom G6 CGM is the only CGM that communicates with the Omnipod® 5 System. Blood glucose meters do not communicate with the Omnipod® 5 System.
What is difference between Omnipod and Omnipod dash?
There are two types of Omnipod Insulin Management Systems in Canada. The older system uses Eros pods that communicate with a thicker PDM via radio waves. The newer system uses DASH pods (blue cannula cover) that communicate with a sleek PDM via bluetooth. The DASH PDM does not have a blood glucose meter incorporated.
