After Emily decides to go to Jake, he tries to make her watch Samara Morgan’s cursed video tape, as his 7th day deadline is ending. Emily plays the tape, but later it is revealed she never watched it and closed her eyes throughout the tape. Samara then crawls out of the TV, and Jake is ultimately killed.
