What is Uponor PEX? Uponor PEX plumbing systems is a flexible, durable plastic piping product called cross-linked polyethylene (PEX) tubing used to distribute the water throughout your home. PEX tubing is a clean, non-toxic, and extremely durable piping product that will not pit, scale or corrode.
Is Uponor pipe the same as PEX pipe?

Will Sharkbite fittings work on Uponor?
These are classified based on the way the are manufactured. Pex-A is the only type that Uponor manufactures and is considered to be the best. Apollo manufactures both Pex-A and Pex-B. If your supplier is selling Sharkbite fittings, all sharkbite fittings will work on all three types of Pex.
Is PEX plumbing better than copper?
PEX pipe is not only cheaper than copper but more durable too. PEX is immune to corrosion and mineral build-up, and it’s not affected by electrolysis, which can cause small pinhole leaks in copper piping. Copper pipes can last anywhere from six months to the life of a building.
Is PEX healthier than copper?
The chemical leaching in PEX will go down over time while copper will continue to leach. Personally, many of my own health problems were caused by copper pipes so I’m not a big fan. I would choose PEX over copper every time.
Is Apollo PEX same as Uponor?
I’ve used some Apollo Pex-A. It’s exactly the same as Uponor, in fact the rings have a better stop on them to prevent slippage. If you are having problems (like most people) getting Uponor just go with Apollo for sure.
