Why is Masca closed?
Masca is located within the Teno Rural Park, a protected natural area. As a result, the access to Masca by car has been restricted in order to reduce the environmental impact of the large number of visitors over the last years.

The Masca Valley is most definitely worth a visit. We drove from Santa Cruz, through Puerto de La Cruz and the views along the way were breath taking. The road up to Masca is very narrow and it could be dangerous at times, so drive slow and carefully. There isn’t much parking up at the valley so be prepared to wait.
